I need your opinion plz

Hi guys, I just got my alpine X200 installed in my ride. Sounds ok but the bass is kinda weak. I dont want to get subs because i dont want it to be too loud and i will be needing the trunk space. Does it make sense to install an amp eventhough i dont have any subs running and just get the stock speakers hooked on them or should i upgrade my speakers instead?

Thanks guys!

Just adding an amp or changing speakers won't make much difference in bass output.

Remember speakers are desgined to play certain frequencies. A 6.5" speaker is not designed to play deep/low bass that most people are looking for (there are exceptions but 99% of the stuff out there are MID BASS drivers). You need a subwoofer in order to play sub bass.

If you want more MID BASS, then you would likely need new speakers + proper sound deadening + some sort of custom installation.

What kind of car is it? Subwoofer don't have to be huge, there are lots of slim subs that don't need alot of space on the market. Another option would be to put in a false floor enclosure in the spare tire well to help maximize space. This isn't the cheapest option but still an option. If you're a "hands on" type of guy then you could always try fibreglassing yourself. It's perfect weather for it right now.
