Hey guys,
Just a heads up to the community, do NOT go to West Coast alignment on Powell in Vancouver. They charged me $197 for an alignment on my Jetta because the castor was off....surprise, it's off after I get it done. They didn't give me a spec sheet either so I couldn't tell what was wrong. I go back, and they fix it, so I ask this time if i can get a spec sheet. The guy stares at me and says "trust me, it's in spec, I gaurantee it". WTF? I don't care, I want a spec sheet in case it fucks up again. Anyways, just a word out to everyone, go to Dale's in Langley for a reputable shop that won't charge you over $100 for a fucking 4-wheel alignment. Rant over.

I personally wouldn't have paid without getting the spec sheet first.
I've only been to Dale's and PDM racing... both places were very professional, at Dale's they even went out of their way to explain to me a few of the issues I was having with my alignment, now I know how everything works and how to diagnose whats wrong if I have problems in the future.

Yeah...I assumed I would get a sheet. Assuming makes an ass out of u and me...oh well.
Yeah I can rep for Dale's too. When I got my camber adjusters installed the showed me all the parts, showed me what had to be done, why the price was what it was and gave me all info needed. Awesome people there.

You can't technically refuse payment beacuse you didn't get a sheet.
They don't say anywhere they're gonna give you one do they? most shops do it as a convinience..
That being said, I need an alignment soon :(

PDM kicks ass, they have a huge hunter alighnment machine and work well on lowered vehicles as they tune track cars. They are in Burnaby too which is nice, no long drive out to Langley. Their rates my vary depending on the vehicle and setup but I only spend $100 their after taxes for a 4 wheel alignment with rear camber kit adjustment and before and after spec sheet.

I got my car alligned there after it was in an accident..... yeah no spec sheets but I wasn't paying much attention as it's paid out by ICBC. It end up driving straight and true so I can't complain....

does PDM do alignments for all cars? They're close to my place so I was hoping to take my Volvo there

spec sheet = hit the print button = not too much to ask of a paying customer.

I'm pretty sure PDM will do any kind of car. It's money in their pocket, they will gladly do a stock Volvo.

Same here, they've been good to me for the past 5 years.
I went to West Coast alignment once a long time ago on the recommendation of one of my friends. I was worried that my car may have had a non-straight frame. He mentioned he had a buddy with a 5.0L Mustang who had frame damage and West Coast was able to pull the frame and get everything fixed up. I went there, and the shop seemed clean enough with magazines in the waiting room. During the wait, they had thrown an old classic roadster (loud) onto their alignment rack. That made me feel confident as they seemed to be reputable for car collectors to bring their cars to the shop. When it was my turn, they turned around and told me I needed new ball-joints. I was like wtf, and asked how much they wanted to charge. They said something like 200bux a side plus the alignment. I politely refused and they quickly drove my car off the alignment rack. It was pretty evident they wanted to hose me out of a lot of money.
That's when I went to Advanced Automotive and got my alignment done. They made no mention of my balljoints needing replacement. Also, my frame seemed to be straight as an arrow, so I was worried for nothing.

Doesn't matter. A good shop would simply print out a spec sheet. It's not that frickin' hard. A business is a business and customer service is part of it.
Without the customer service bit, they will end up in threads like this with their name thrown around like monkey shit.
+1 for Dales.
They give you a spec sheet.
Without asking.

I used Comptech Performance for my MB. They do German cars for sure, and most likely Japs too, though I didn't ask. They're on 5th Avenue, near Canadian Tire and the Vancouver Police station. Cost me $100, and my car is lowered. They also gave me a Before and After spec sheet; I didn't even ask for one. :)
Talk to Dave, he took care of me. I think he's the owner. The guy races regularly too so I'm sure he can do many other kinds of work on your car.
***UPDATE***
Here's the shop:

I've heard good things about Comptech as well. This is the shop near 7th ave right? From what I know, they are a really old shop, and have experience in setting up suspension for race cars and whatnot.
