I'm sure everyone already knows, but some don't and there has not been a thread about this.

http://www.microsoft.com/canada/windows/buy/offers/pre-order.aspx

Pre-order to get your Windows 7 upgrade for only $65 for Home Premium.
US gets it for $50. pfft.

I'd love to upgrade from my Vista Home Premium, but do I really NEED to upgrade? :p

Enjoy.

Do you need to upgrade ? Probably not ... Windows 7 isn't a whole lot different from Vista.

Should you upgrade ? Yes ... Windows 7 will be better supported than Vista in the years to come. If you plan to keep your computer for more than another year, it's definitely worth the $65.

Microsoft is pleased to launch the Windows 7 upgrade option program and here are the details:

- If the end users purchase a new PC pre-installed with an eligible Windows Vista Home Premium, Windows Vista Business or Windows Ultimate from June 26 to January 31, 2010, they will receive a Windows 7 upgrade option form at the same time.

- Starting from June 26, end users can submit order via www.windows7upgradeoption.com and follow the online instructions for redemption. Submissions must be completed by February 28, 2010.

- Microsoft will start shipping the program upgrade media directly to qualifying end users after Windows 7 General Availability. (New Windows 7 will be available on October 22). End users will be notified of an estimated ship date with their website order confirmation.

- The final software fulfillment date/program end date is April 30, 2010.

- Limit of one offer form per qualifying new computer, one Windows 7 upgrade redemption per offer form; not to excceed 25 offer form redemptions per qualified customer.

- The upgrade software will be in the same language and the comparable edition as the preinstalled version of Windows Vista Home Premium, Windows Vista Business or Windows Ultimate that is licensed on the qualifying new computer.

^ Is it really that unconventional to do what I normally do?

I thought everyone and his dog does that for EA games too..
