Hey guys, got a friend that recently bought a 95 eclipse. It is a non turbo and auto but the car is running into some problems. Sometimes when the car is idling, the car will stall but he his able to fire it back up right away. He has brought it to a mechanic and changed the spark plugs, timing belt, and alot of other stuff but still haven't fixed the problem. Wondering if anyone might know what the problem is and also if anyone can recommend a mechanic which has alot of experience fixing eclipses and their plague of problems. THANKS in advance.

problem sounds exactly like my 1st car had.
check vacuum leak (all rubber hoses)

if it's a non turbo I'd rule out actually having vaccuum problems (not like his mechanic wouldn't be able to hear/diagnose that right away)

some of the harness connection might be iffy, such as the crank angle sensor/cam angle sensor, or even the ignition coil pack harness.

Go thru electrical stuff first if the car drives fine and deliver power positively when running.

Search the Neon forums, it's just a neon motor in a nicer body. A dodge mechanic would probably be more help to you.

Thanks going to try giving him a call soon.
I friend just drove the car the whole day without it stalling today, its stupid cause it only does this once in a while.
