When the Supra vanished from the Toyota lineup in 2003, fans were angered but confident a revival was in the works. As the years past, hope began to fade until the company unveiled the FT-HS Concept at the North American International Auto Show in 2007.

Two and a half years later, fans are still waiting. However, the wait may soon be over as reports are indicating Toyota is preparing to launch a Supra revival in 2011.

While details are still limited, several sources are suggesting the rear-wheel drive sports car will be offered with a 3.5-liter V6 and the Lexus GS450h's 2GR-VSE 3.5-liter V6 which will be paired with the Toyota's Crown hybrid system. While the current 3.5-liter V6 only produces 268 hp and 248 lb-ft or torque, the Crown's hybrid system could enable the Lexus' V6 to produce more than 400 hp.

We could see a thinly veiled concept appear at this year's Tokyo Motor Show, but the production model isn't expected to be unveiled until next year.

Engine isn't really impressive and can't give a GTR or even an Evo a run for it's money

with that system, just do a GS 500h and call it a day.

Go back to a bulletproof bottom end of an inline 6.

Also screw putting on 2 turbos, slap on a big single.

as a sidebar, the current issue of motor trend reports that they will stuff the v8 from the IS-F into the next-gen GS to create a GS-F

I'm actually a big fan of the way this car looks. IMO, the average enthusiast doesnt need or want a car that is as fast as the Nissan GTR anyway.

It would be cool to have a 911 targa style top
And right the front bumper makes it look like a bath tub upside down

Or as expensive. Would be nice to have a few more options around $50-60K if you want a sports car.

Faster or not, this car will sell. It would fit the range that the 370z fills and be its direct competetor. So faster than the gtr or not, it will sell much better.

Question is, if it can perform as well, and the price.

Toyota's answer to the 370Z hybrid....................

ridiculous.
