The body of a Muslim woman, killed in a German courtroom by a man convicted of insulting her religion, has been taken back to her native Egypt for burial.

Marwa Sherbini, 31, was stabbed 18 times by Axel W, who is now under arrest in Dresden for suspected murder.

Husband Elwi Okaz is also in a critical condition in hospital, after being injured as he tried to save his wife.

Ms Sherbini had sued her killer after he called her a "terrorist" because of her headscarf.

The case has attracted much attention in Egypt and the Muslim world.

German prosecutors have said the 28-year-old attacker, identified only as Axel W, was driven by a deep hatred of foreigners and Muslims.

Medics were unable to save Ms Sherbini who was three months pregnant with her second child. Her three-year-old son was with the family in court when she was killed.

Axel W and Ms Sherbini and family were in court for his appeal against a fine of 750 euros ($1,050) for insulting her in 2008, apparently because she was wearing the Muslim headscarf or Hijab.

I think that issues like this are the culmination of a lot of people putting up with a lot of shit.

While this guy is clearly a racist and a bigot, (in general) a lot of free the world has tried to be very tolerant of all religions, unfortunately no other large religious group seems to be bombing buildings, killing soldiers, and attacking peaceful groups.

As a result some people that are unaffiliated with the militaristic islamic groups are being victimized and attacked because of the actions of others.

I thought what you meant by tolerance propagating hate was that the modern world tries to sympathize with criminals by transferring responsiblity to society, their upbringing, their social & educataional disadvantages, etc.

im reading that the Husband wasn't stabbed by the killer but rather a security guard who fired his gun (some are accusing him of deliberately shooting the husband, thinking he was the criminal, others say he just missed the killer and hit the husband)

They're stereotyped because the gov't keeps pushing propaganda about Islam which is causing a dangerous uprising within these communites. So the next logical question is why in the hell would you open the flood gates and allow so many Muslims to pour into to your country but once they land on your soil you put them in low housing projects away from the cities and give them no opportunities for work or education because they're labeled "Muslim". It really doesn't make any sense.
