My neighbour can't park.

I live in a gated community and I have this neighbour who moved in a few months ago, In the beginning she use to park in my spot so i'd have to get out and ask her to move ( her dad parks in the spot next to me with an uninsured car ) after a couple more occurances it got old fast so the next time she parked in my spot I whaled on the horn so I could make the situation a bit more uncomfortable for her and I ended up getting into quite a confrontation with her father ( I can see where she gets the I don't give a shit attitude & complete disregard for anyone around them ) - She didn't park in my spot again.
Recently unit 44 who parks on the other side of me left for a 2 month vacation and sure enough this girl starts parking in their spot and thats fine its not my problem...until she starts parking like this on a regular basis.
http://img8.imageshack.us/img8/5931/fronthbo.jpg (http://img8.imageshack.us/i/fronthbo.jpg/)
http://img41.imageshack.us/img41/2603/sideh.jpg (http://img41.imageshack.us/i/sideh.jpg/)
This is definately not the worst of it, Earlier today she had both of those wheels completely in my spot not just half over. I started parking as far away from her as possible since the spots are quite large I had enough room to leave a good 3ft between my car and my parking line and over 1ft of space on the other side still. I started doing this because the first day she parked in that spot I had a hair over 1ft of room to open my door.
This has been going for for the last week now and I've let it go. At this point I decided not to goto the door again because my patience is non-existant and it would just get nasty so I called the president of the counsel to take care of it - God only knows if he has the grapes to say anything..This girl has been using a visitors spot ever since and they complain about it behind closed door and at counsel meetings but never actually take any action.
The worst part of this is I live 3 units down from them on an end unit ( this is why my spot is where it is ) I have no visual of my car and its nicely parked right infront of their house which makes me hesitant to cause any more of an issue - I certainly do notice more scratches on the car but I won't assume they are sabotaging my car, However I don't want to instigate a situation where they may take out their frusteration on my car, Hence the different approach this time.
The only problem is I have to rely on someone else to get the job done and I can't stand doing that because most people don't like confrontation.

She must be a big ass bitch to need that much room to get out. I also believe that the only way to get things done right is to do it yourself but you are definitely doing the wise thing by not stirring it up any more cause the dad sounds like he's an idiot that will do shit to your ride.

If you council doesnt take any action. Move to vote for new leadership.

Start parking your 2x4 with the nails on the line.
complain to strata.
document every day that is parked like that.
if she parks over the line, park ur car as close to it while staying on ur side of the spot. if ur car gets scratched, u have all the evidence in the world to bring to icbc, and because you are within ur space, then you have a case.
this is different than parking on the street as this IS car spaces that your maintenance fee pays for.

wow I've seen bad parking but that's pretty brutal for a spot that huge.
Off topic a bit a neighbour of mine who lives across the street I see him come home every night and park on your typical residential street. He drive a Mazda 3 and often when he shows up there will be at least 4+ car lenghts of space in front of his house yet he spends upwards to 3 full minutes to park? The weird thing is he just drive into the spot and it's perfect as it should be with that much space yet he takes an additional 3 minutes reversing and going forward fixing his spot and I'm always sitting ion ym car smoking at that time going like WTF!?!?!

or get strata to redo the parking lines (to make smaller but more parking spots so they dont have to keep stealing visitors' and others' spots?) and maybe get them to assign u to another parking spot...at least to a spot that u can see ur car?
good luck man
Contact strata and send them pictures, documentation of confrontations, etc.

I just spoke with the strata president and he says there really isn't anything we can do because we aren't police men. He said he can send them a letter...He objects to doing " walk arounds " to find violations because then he has to start knocking on doors when he finds one and they usually tell him to stick it where the sun don't shine. So just as I assumed he doesn't have the grapes to do anything because hes afraid on confrontation, I told him if I have to say something it won't be pretty and thats not what he wants in this quiet calm community.
I took the proper steps to report it and it appears justice will NOT prevail in this matter. I will give it a week for the letter to arrive and sink into their thick skulls but after that I have to go over there myself.

LMAO, theres so much room and the parking spot is HUGE. It may be understandable if the spot was tiny but man some handicap spots are smaller than that.

Did you try and leave a note on her windshield? Maybe do it in a way that doesn't sound condescending.
"Hey, I noticed a few times this week you've parked either right on the line or had your wheels over the line and in my space. You probably didn't realize so I just wanted to make you aware of it and ask if you could try and park on the right side of the line in the future.
Thanks a lot I really appreciate it"
If she continues to do it after that game on.
perhaps you could place few triangle cones along the line
dont go over it, just place along the line...
that might aid her how to park properly..

Your strata council should be handling this but it sounds like your president has tiny balls. I'm on the council for my building and we get complaints similar to yours between two residences, and your council should be sending them a letter to the bitch's dad stating the problem. If it continues, fines should be issued for each violation. Now the dad doesn't seem like he cares so he may not care about fines either. If he doesn't care, that route won't help you. It's best to find out when your next strata council meeting is and go in person to state your case. Bring pictures if you can on multiple days/parking positions that the bitch leaves her car in, it'll help your case.
The only other thing I can think of is whether or not your strata bylaws have any rules against improper parking. If yours has anything similar to that, you might possibly be able to get them towed. SG! is right though, document everything.
I feel for you on this. I'm in a situation where I'm dealing with my next door neighbor propping her door open and if I leave my apartment i get a clear view into her washroom. It's not like I have another exit out of my apartment I can go through. If she was hot, thank you god. But she's far from hot, so help me god and damn u for making me blind.

There isn't much really... Honestly the strata has to want to help the person in the situation and in his case it doesn't seem like the president has enough balls to do anything about it. There probably is a way if he doesn't have a towing bylaw, but it would take a while to kick in.
Look into the bylaws, if there's no towing violation for incorrect parking....
-approach strata regarding a new towing bylaw on people parking like idiots
-council has to approve it for voting at the AGM
-depending when your agm is, you have to wait, max 1 year depending when it is
-at the agm, hope like hell u get enough votes to pass the bylaw
-if it passes, legally the biotch is breaking the law by parking like a biotch
-have it towed at will on every infraction.
of course, this is how i would think my strata would handle it, but the main problem is the first stop on having his strata agree it's a problem... and this route takes forever.
Damaging the cow's car isn't going to do any good because you're just gonna start a back and forth war. I'm at a loss for words on any ideas....
Cones is not a bad idea though, but then again I can see the biotch disregarding those too.
^ its worth a try, but if that bitch disregard my brilliant idea of setting up cones, she is hopeless..
by the way, the parking belongs to someone else who is on vacation for 2 months ?
i guess live with it and just wait till the owner is back
meanwhile leave notes everytime when you see her cross over the line...and print out different picture everytime and gave her a copy on her windshield

if there is someone in your designated parking spot, is it possible to call a tow truck to take the car away?

Just get 2 street cones and place them on each end of the line... and then place a sign on the first one stating <------ Parking for ACCTUAL OWNERS! Another thing you can do if they dont know the acctual owner of the spot is on vacation is to leave a note stating you are the owner and vehicle will be towed if not moved....

i've ask my freind who lives in those community townhouses before...
they said its a hassel, that you have to show tow truck company all the paper work stated you are the owner of the house
property tax form, form indicates you are the owner of the parking spot ...etc...
in this case, the OP does not own the parking stall bitch is parking..so it wont work

Those are some wideass parking spots you guys have there, Still i wouldn't recommend towing it just because it's obvious it'd be you who called,
I like SG's idea but again vengeance... set up cameras? maybe ask strata to invest in security cameras, that way if they try to vandalize your car you can find footage, + funny fail parking videos + added security for everyone :)
Parking right on the edge of ur space all the time might help, seriously though she's a bitch purposely parking like that, If she parks in someone else's space without written permission or a permit for that spot, shouldn't she be towed? I've been to townhouses where they have the buster's towing signs telling ppl to park in visitors and not in other ppl's designated spaces

She seems to be parking right on the lines just to piss you off. There isn't much you can do since 44 isnt your spot, and anything you can do will take too much effort. Plus your parking spot is big enough for even if she does take an inch away from yours you have plenty of room.
If she is doing this to rile you up its working. Its only 2 more months. Relax and look the other way she will get bored eventually if she sees you are not biting the bait.
Plus you never know what they can do to your car in a months time.

Im going to look into the strata parking regulations to find out if any kind of ' parking without regard for others ' rule is listed.
What im hopeing is the neighbours on vacation make an early pit stop at home and if this happens I will show them pictures and ask them to not give permission to them to use their spot again, I have two vehicles so I can ask to park one in their spot to make sure she doesn't park in the spot without the permissions - The neighbours who are out are great people and if they knew she was causing this kind of trouble for me they would not allow her to use their spot.

But if she's constantly dinging your doors, scratching the paint, thats when I'd say something..
Nobody fucks with a guy's car. PERIOD.
Just throw your miscellaneous garbage at his place. Make sure he doesn't know who though. Stuff like cigarette butts, empty pop cans or bottles, empty Mcdonals bag & trash.
Just use his property as your personal trash can. Let them clean up after you.
Again, make sure it's an act of anonymity. It would piss him off more if he can't figure out who to direct his anger to.

Or, stab her dad to death, and bury their whole family alive like in that other post.
That would definitely work!

I spoke to one of my other neighbours and he said she's just a terrible driver, Her dad has to back her car out of her parking spots for her.
Well, this would be a better situation that if she was doing it on purpose.
In this case, you could just try to politely give them a notice asking them if they could be more careful about parking in their spot.

pop one of her tire (the side thats away further away from you) with a flate head screw driver
grease the fuck out of her rotor/break pads
ding ding ding, instant new tire, ICBC will love her for her insurance going up

There's no way in hell she's THAT bad of a driver

You could park an H1 hummer in that spot with space left over,
If you park it close to the line and catch her in the act of hitting your car or slamming her door against yours. it's under insurance right?

Good times can be had with expanding foam... like in the tail pipe, gas cap, etc...
Just don't fight back. She's quite immature and if you fight back, she will fight back. Your parking space is wide enough for you to park easily even if she takes up a quarter of it. If she takes up a quarter of your parking space, hers will be 75% open which means you can take it. Of course, if she ever goes that far, just take a picture and its GG. Call a towing company when that happens.

shes doing it on purpose. that or shes trying to leave enough room for another "visitor" car. they might have to drive up on the curb a bit but you could for sure get another car in there. id go with my first guess tho

If she's that bad of a driver/her dad has to back her car out for her, there's a good chance the car is insured in the dad's name and she doesn't even have a license... it's more common than you'd think. Maybe you should go that route through ICBC ;)

This is still going on? I would've already traded cars with a buddy who has a truck, and started blocking her in. If she wants to move her car, she'd have to come talk to you at which time you ask her to go speak to the Strata president (whom you talk to beforehand about this).
park sideways to show her whose boss
Parallel park in both your spots ;)

Well, I was outside working on the car and she happend to be leaving so I jokingly gave her a hard time about her parking skills and she was quite embarrassed and apologized - She said she could move over quite a bit.
I don't think she has been doing it on purpose but I do think she is one of those people who doesn't pay attention or care about things like that unless they are brought to her attention.
We'll see what happens.
