I have window firewall turned on, and I've tried to checking off "Don't allow exception" and checking off the program from the list of exception on the firewall exceptions tabs...

However, the program is still able to connect to internet. No warning notification ever comes up either.

Why is that? And is there actually ways to block a program from accessing the internet using window's default firewall? (I know there are 3rd parties program like sygate which could do that, but it slows down my computer a lot)

anything a 3rd party firewall can do, windows firewall can do, it just has a bit less gui.

once you've set a program, the notification won't come up again.

finally, you want the program you want to block UNchecked, not checked. checked off programs are allowed through. if that doesnt work try to add an exception and select the .exe for the program and then keep it unchecked.

Windows Firewall only blocks incoming traffic. It can't block outgoing traffic.

You need third party firewall software to be able to block outgoing traffic.
