don't see why not. all they do was put together a comparison which you can easily do yourself by researching. not like any trade secrets were revealed.

They even compared themselves to Mercedes on the radio commercial.

orange7

well.. i actually don't think the comparision justifies anything other than the fact that you get more features from an Infiniti.

I mean, you can't really put a price on driving experience.

They picked some of the worst cars to compare...
And if you look at g37c vs 335ci, there's no price. We all know the 335 is better... and faster...

And comparing EX35 to an X3?!?!?! X3's got a bigger trunk, better ground clearance i believe, better back seat, which is what ur expecting in a crossover, and a sportier drive :)

LOLOL good job comparing G37 coupe to A5 which is incredibly rare, y not 335?

This is just BS...

They really should have a regular comparison chart which would've been much fairer
There is no consistency in their comparisons besides their powertrain warranty which is 2 years more
Those cheats, never buying an infiniti after this...

actually the compairson is fairly fair, not like wayyyy off or anything
EX and x3 is in the same class
37 and 335 is in the same class

one of the magazine did a review on 37 and 335 on the track, and they came out fairly close. Straight line or around the corners.

+1 for G37/G35 vc 335i.

Performance wise 335i > G37/G35
bang for buck wise G37/G35 > 335i

also for resale it's a lot easier to trade in an Infiniti vehicle than a BMW/Mercedes/Audi. Yes to some who still feel weak at the knees on the mention of Deutschland they are worth some money, but new car dealers avoid them like plague.

Infiniti is a bit more worry free when you are in the market for your next car, to say the least.

DID YOU EVEN VISIT THE LINK?

For the EX and X3, it compared irrelevant things like a rearview monitor... and leather seating... but it doesn't bring up that the X3 probably handles better thanks to it's rock hard suspension, and that the trunk space is way more, which is more important IMO than some silly rear view monitor, especially in a crossover.

Same with the G37 and 335 convertible comparison, even with additional power the G37 really isn't much faster if not slower especially in convertible form.

They really took the 4 or 5 things out of each of all these cars and said that they were better because of it. But most of the things are insignificant!

Every car will have advantages over other cars, it's whether the advantages outweigh the disadvantages that will make it ON PAPER a better car. I'd take the twin turbo 6 over a VQ anyday,

They just used small "filler" details to determine their cars were better

I'm not saying infinitis/Nissans suck here, I'm just saying how poorly these comparisons show the advantages/disadvantages of these cars

Car and Driver June 2009

1st place: BMW 328i
2nd place: Infiniti G37 SPORT
3rd place: Audi A4 2.0t quattro
4th place: Acura TL SH-AWD

its so flattering to see BMW all over their own website

Nice try Nissan :)

in terms of driving excitement (and i find this relevant on this forum due mostly for all of its members share that outlook) the other three do not stand a chance.

^lol even those aren't that great

I doubt this G37 vs 335i sport coupe comparison will ever come to an end. They both bring a lot to the table and both have room for improvement

Like Xfactor78 said, If you're looking for a performance car go with the 335

But even as an everyday runabout, IMO the 335i has a much more comfortable back seat and my friend who is 6'1" can fit in, whereas myself 5'8" can't fit in the back of the G without my head hitting the window

IMO for an extra $5000 I'll still take the 335 just cause of it's amazing engine and practicality advantage. And the style is elegant and classy and will also last longer, G35 coupes are already looking old on me, yet an E46 coupe still looks good.

In the end i wouldn't have either LOL just because they are too common.

BTW does Infiniti's warranty cover servicing for the first 4 years?

the brakes on that car are absolutely astonishing

323 is no good on gas though, you were better off with a 328 anyways, POWER!!! lol although extra 8Gs...
you do get a nice auto dimming mirror though (hehe see my infiniti comparison tactic?)
and power seats and a few other goodies you don't get with a 323

speaking of power...
I love how they compared the Escalade a fashion object against the QX a more practical utilitarian truck.

How about stuff that matters in trucks,
TORQUE
POWER!!!
FUEL ECONOMY
TOWING
VALUE

Toyota Sequoia walks all over the QX on paper for a $70,000 truck...

The comparison is from the Infiniti website, so it is obvious they are going to make themselves look good. The specs stated are facts, not that they altered anything and gave out false information, but they only compare whatever spec they have that's better than their competitors.

slammer111
07-13-2009, 02:26 AM
Anyone who knows their cars is going to shake their head at this comparison. Infiniti might as well put one of their selling points as "We have 11 colour options vs. BMW's 8" or whatever. Not saying the facts aren't true (which is not the case at all) but anyone who buys a car solely on THOSE paper specs is an idiot.

Looking at the G37 vs. 335i.. seriously, not everyone wants 19" rims. Myself included. I'm too cheap to pay 4x for the same diameter but lower-profile tires. Nor do I enjoy swerving like crazy to avoid potholes and speed bumps on a daily basis.

I also noticed that for the 335i comparison, they conveniently left out the prices for both vehicles, unlike the other comparisons. Hmm..

Harvey Specter
07-13-2009, 03:38 AM
Yup, I didn't get 19's on my 335i because my car is a daily driver. The 19" style 230's look amazing but for daily driving 19's are awful.

that is true, g37 and g35 in terms of speed there really isnt any improvement in terms of 1/4 mile and stuff. Sure 37 gets a bigger engine with 30hp+ but it is also packed with more weight

+1 The 2nd Gen G35 Sedan is about the same speed as a G37 coupe, even though the coupe has a more powerful engine. The G37 Sedan that is now out is quicker than the coupe. Infiniti is pumping the power up next year as well. The 3.7L V6 is going to be at 340 and 350hp.

Every since the first G35 sedan/coupe came out and took a chunk out of BMW bread and butter market, BMW have been upping their game and expanding their market like a mad man. However, lets not take anyway away from Infiniti, they make fine cars, but BMW just makes it better.

Equally bad?

I'm 100% sure the trunk space is better because I have an X3 XD
The height is much better and is less slanted, much better for suitcases
Off road capabilities of both are garbage so who cares.

But the X3 is an incredibly sporty drive, but suspension is hard to live with for people who can't stand a sports car. Haven't Driven the EX before, but guaranteed the back seat and trunk is better in the X3
