yeah, hk is an international hub, there are plenty of east indian guys that will school most of us with their cantonese. heck, i knew a guy at futureshop that sold a tv to my parents after i gave up trying to explain to them all the features of the tv. he spoke perfect cantonese.

greddydelsol owns me 10 fold when it comes to mandarin.

There are many people who command languages easily.
I know an American lawyer in HK who is of East Indian descent, and speaks (near perfect): Punjabi, Hindi, Cantonese, Mandarin, Italian, French, Spanish, and one other I can't remember.

On a side note; 12 years ago I was with my gf at the time at the long-gone Hong Lok Yuen restaurant on Alexandra Road. An EI family sat down next to us, and I casually told her in Cantonese "wow, even EI's know about this place now!"

Their little daughter then proceeded to loudly order a cold milk tea in perfect Cantonese.

alot of immigrants coming from india and shit that are doctors, dentists, lawyers and shit get screwed when they come here because they have to re-train just to get certified to do that shit here. so they basically have to start from the beginning and to do that is hella expensive.

Actually, ANY asian university degrees are not recognized in North America.

My friend from Taiwan has a Master Degree in physics, now he is taking the same course as me at BCIT. He couldn't even get into UBC/SFU.........
