2- Why does my Firefox icon not stay in the dock everytime i shut off my comp. Seems like im having to reinstall it every time.
3- why cant i use the "back" and "next" page buttons on the 'aftermarket' mouse to go back and next page in firefox? I get the scroll wheel.
4- why is it so damn hard to change a wallpaper.
5- when i save pictures, where do they go?
6- I have ALOT of music. How do i upload them to itunes?

1. Select the file, hit enter.
2. Drag Firefox into applications folder, then from the applications folder, drag the firefox icon into the dock.
3. Check if your mouse has OSX drivers. Otherwise, youre SOL
4. CMD+Space, Type in "Desktop & Screensaver" in Spotlight.
5. Depending if you're saving from the browser or not. The default should be your "Downloads" folder.
6. Goto iTunes, File-> "Add to Library" and go from there.

i know a couple of people that just run windows on their macs only everytime
just take your time to learn the operating system... if you give up there is always the cheaper PC to go to aha

I thought itd be cool to switch over to a mac since ive been using windows for so long. Got kinda bored with it.
I got it from Apple in PC. The sales guy there didnt teach me anything on it. But at the same time i didnt ask cuz i didnt know what/how itd be different from a PC.
I dont regret getting it though!

I hate to be brutally honest with you but if you need help using a Mac, you shouldn't be using one to begin with.

According to many Mac users, it's supposed to be intuitive.

also, invest in the onetoone program when you buy the mac from the apple store. they'll teach you everything about osx and its apps.

it is intuitive unless you've been using windows since 3.1...
so i have an HP macbook ~ macbook pro
core2duo, 8400m (yes the notoriously hot gpu that nvidia publicly acknowledged as defective), 2gb, 250gb sata drive
anyways picked it up in january for $500 with tax at staples
i've done hackintosh a few years ago but this was stupid easy with the chameleon bootloader that allows you to even update osx, everything except the 4965 intel wireless card worked (no drives yet) , so i swaped it out $20 ebay broadcom 4321. now i have a fully functionally osx notebook :D

please don't tell me you paid $99 for it.
on a related note, god, the genius bar is such a fail. idiots booking hour sessions to learn how to bookmark a website in safari taking time away from people with legitimate problems.
I use both MAC and PC. And Both have their Pro's and Cons. :)
When on a laptop, I prefer a Mac because they do some little things that make your life easier when working with a smaller screen and keyboard:
Big touchpad + multitouch + expose + spaces really help you get stuff done.
And except for the first day, I haven't turned my laptop off yet. I just let it go to sleep and open the lid when I need to use it. It works so well with no boot up time at all. As a PC user, I found this amazing.
I used to love my Thinkpad cuz it was a no-nonsense business machine. I got a lot done with that. But this is better.

1) just like what you do on windows...click on the name and wait till the name is "editable"
2) when you say re-install, i'm hoping you're just opening the application and when it shows up in the dock, click and hold on the icon, till you see a choice to keep it in the dock
3) you might have to program the buttons differently as the mouse you have was probably only tested on windows OS
4) what are you talking about hard? its just right clicking on the mouse and choosing change desktop
5) it saves where you want to save it, unless you upload it to iphoto, then look for the iphoto folders
6) import them into itunes

i'm a windows hater...even though i use it at work all the time...but being in tech support and supporting drivers for our products, windows sucks big time...why do you think that most people's way to fix a windows issue is to reformat and reinstall windows? coz really windows sucks...
