so i've been having problems playing online games.
problem is my Upload speed is quite bad.
Download is about 25000kb and upload is about 400 kbs.
what's wrong?
i'm hooked up to a WRT54G2 V1 router and just upgraded the firmware.
i only have one other person using the line as well.
any help will be appreciated. thanks!
im having the same issue to.
download is at 24903.68kb
upload is at 532.48kb
im hooked up to a wrt54gs and its pretty laggy playing on xbox live. i played around a bit with the qos on the the router and manually set my upload bandwidth. that helped a little bit.

It doesn't matter what kind of router you're using. You're only thinking locally, i.e. the hardware on your end. What about all the routers and switches you have to go through to get to your destination along the way? A faster upload speed does not necessarily equal less lag. There are a lot of factors, such as the wiring from the CO to your house, the wiring INSIDE your house, interference (wired and wireless), etc that determine how laggy your connection is. What kind of connection does the server you're connecting to have? Standard cable? DSL? T1?
A bunch of you guys are using a wireless router, wireless interference is a big deal. Choose channels 1, 6, or 11. Those are the wireless channels that don't overlap with any other wireless channels.
Aren't you a CIST student? You sure are asking a lot of stupid questions. You should know all this already, at the very least the answer to this:
i went through the seattle server and its so slow
went through the vancouver server ands its much faster why is that?
