I was in SF this past weekend and I had this Japanese ice cream my friends sisters place. It was a round ball with a very chewy top layer and ice cream in the middle, anyone have a idea what the name of this ice cream is?

Yup, that's the one...it was so damn good.

How much is the mochi ice cream at T&T and is it the same one pictured above?

If no luck at TnT
You can also try Korean Supermarkets because most of these are made by korean company.
in fact, the ice cream in the picture above is made by LOTTE (korean)
i know Hannam in Lougheed has had them but sometimes they dont.

in korean pronounciation, its called Chap (Chap from chapstick) Ssal ( Sally with out the "y" sound) Dduk (dock but faster) ice cream.

top layer is rice cake and inside is ice cream or something.T.T

i bought a box of 12 daifuku at yaohan last month. it was $6 per box. works out to be 50cents each. regular price is $8-10 per box. nearly 80cents each.
