I dont know if the staff is the same anymore, since they re-opened with the new name on Aug 1st there was a sign

they are now open'd 7 days a week before they were only open 6 days a week

I don't know what got me to even trying this place.

Just so happens I was out with my mom and she had about the advertisement on the radio and suggested we go and try it. I was skeptical and even after trying this place - remain so.

Here's is my ever great review.

Ambiance:
The space is pretty large as it occupies 3 units. Nice touch with the throwback photos of Hong Kong and all its famous districts. Overall the restaurant is kinda worn down and definitely has seen its better days. 3.5/5

Service: It's decent for a chinese hong kong style restaurant. Everything was quick and friendly. 4/5

Quality: I'm quite the food connosieur so I definitely have a pretty good standard on the things I received. We ordered a "Cup dai" Congee (the congee with all the pig offals) and baked pork chop rice. The congee was surprisingly good - plenty of offals, good amounts of ginger and green scallions. My only complaint was that some pieces tasted like they were pre blanched and were sitting in the fridge for a long time. The baked pork chop on rice was a hit and a miss. They present it on a 2 contemporary dishes so it was elevated and looked like you were getting alot but really wasn't. The sauce, cheese and fried rice was really really good but the meat was absolutely pathetic. The pork chop we received was an ultimate failure. The was 2 pieces which were very very thin. They ended up using a cheap cut of pork (pork shoulder steaks) there was literally pieces of fat everywhere. I had to throw away half of it - so you literally get 1 piece of thin pork chop on rice (think mini set meal quantity/quality at the regular price). Included in the drink was also a hot cup of drink - which ended up to be hot milk tea. This was very well done.
Congee: 4/5
Baked Pork Chop Rice: 2/5
Hot milk tea: 4.5/5

Price: The congee was about $6 bucks which was ok but still at an expensive price point compared to other richmond restaurants. The baked pork chop was at rip off coming in at $11 which included a hot drink. I don't think I've ever seen a PBC rice at that price in richmond or Vancouver. We literally received a mini set portion meal at the price of a premium dinner set

Overall: 2/5 There are better HK style restaurants elsewhere.
