anyone know where to buy good quality bike stands(rear + front)? are all the bike stands universal or how do i know which will fit my bike(06 R6)
also is it possible to move my bike onto the stand by myself? thanks for the help.

stands are universal, but you'll need to get spools.

by far the best stands i have ever used. made of ALUMINUM instead of heavy ass steel. very light weight. very strong.

Do you absolutely need a stand when working/modding your bike?
For example, if I were eliminating the fender, would I need the stand?

I would assume that there would be a flat spot on the front tire that was in contact with the wood after storing it for 3 months or so

Also, to OP, bike stands are universal, but for front head stands you might need different size pins

doesn't matter they are stands require spools or swing arm stands....they are all okay.
Make sure you get both front and rear though.

yes, as long as you are doing it on a flat surface.
If you scare, ask a friend to hold it at the front for you.

If you want to try to put the rear stand on by yourself put a piece of wood under the kickstand and the rest is cake.

Canadian Tire rear stand is OK, but front is terrible! Also, rear stand is unstable if you step on or otherwise push on the bar while in use (bike will pitch forward). Don't ask...

My bike ejected itself from the rear Canadian tire stand on it's own. it was on a slight downhil.. I suggest not putting the bike on a stand on a slight downhill! Other then that, it's been great, cheap too. You can get pretty good at putting the stand on by yourself after you do it once or twice.

I was told that you should change the allen bolts on the front for stronger ones, but I have never had that problem

So I'm setting up my front stand...there are four wheels, two on the left, two on the right. For some reason, one of the wheels on the right doesn't quite touch the ground no matter how much I adjust (it's just a 1-2 mm above the ground). I can't tell if it's stand or maybe my garage is not even...will this be a major problem?
