and not the "take a deep breath and lets experiment" kind of rear ended.

stopped in traffic in the HOV lane car behind me is stopped too. she steps on the gas and puts a lovely liscence frame shaped dent in my shiny Ferrari Blue paint. so much for matching colors :(

my neck hurts

fking people are like "its not so bad you dont need to report it" as she licks her finger and rubs it all over the bumper like saliva is instant bodyshop or some shit.

lets just rub that dent out:rolleyes:

i insisted on getting her info and her BF is like "get your cellphone and take pics of his bumper" cool i didnt take pics right away. you're not helping your cause.

ALWAYS TAKE DOWN PEOPLE'S INFO NO MATTER WHAT

my life is full of fail.

goddamn it

<--18,000 posts....what the fuck am i doing in life.

So wait, you didnt get any info? All you probably need was a license plate #
I'm pretty sure ICBC has everything else. Any witnesses?

"Its not that bad so you dont need to report it" Yeah fuck you bitch...
You should report it just for her being a twit

yeah definitely report it, they didn't at least offer to fix it without going to ICBC... what kinda car was it?

yeah i got rear ended too. the guy wanted to fix it privately, i said fine, i still got down all the info. i went to my body shop and they told me it's going to cost about 390. i called the guy back and he wants me to fix it at HIS body shop because he doesnt' have 390 to give me but he can pay his friend in installments.. he's suppose to call me back but haven't yet... i'm going to give him a call in the next couple days, if i can't resolve, i'll just take it to icbc i think...

it's nothing big ... it's just white paint.. on my bumper

report ALL accidents and let ICBC work on your behalf to look out for your interests...

despite the bad rep or what ppl think of icbc they're there to help you. doing stuff outside icbc for the benefit of the other party really is playing russian roulette IMO. i hope you go the info, at least the license plate. hope it works out for you.

So much hassle, just take it to ICBC. He can start saving now and still has the option to pay it out. As long as he pays for it before he reknews his insurance it won't effect him.

Some cop on his way to work rear ended my wife and my kid last fall. He wanted to do it outside ICBC as well I told her fuck that and make her call ICBC.

You should've said, " Oh, I'm not reporting it to get it fixed. I'm getting it fixed cause I want your rates to go up in the hopes that it'll get stupid bitches like you off the road..... It's not so bad...... FUCK YOU!!!! "

When I had my Celica I was backed into in a parking lot. The paint on my front bumper turned into total spiderweb. Her first comment was "It's not so bad you can hardly notice", granted the car was a bit of a heap that comment pissed me off. I told her I was going to file a claim and that she could repay ICBC so it wouldn't be on her driving record.
We exchanged info, and luckily I had a witness who saw the whole thing and was willing to support me so that she couldn't turn around and say I rear ended her.

So I filed the claim, and a few days later I got a phone call from her son. His tone was hostile on the phone, he wanted to come see the car and bring his "friend" who had a bodyshop could estimate it, and even do repairs privately. This guy was really agressive, almost threatening. I told him thanks but no thanks, he was not happy, I had to hang up on him mid sentance.

Anyways, moral of the story, get all the important information, hunt down witnesses you can, but be careful with giving TOO much information, like your home phone number.

wtf

seriously. i'm so tired of this sort of thing...

so i say use a little bit of saliva and show her what it's like to get rear ended... and i don't mean with a car

and tell the bf to take cellphone pics too.

sorry for the attitude. had a bad day today (although not as bad as the OP).

back on topic. go to icbc. don't bother with all this repair privately crap. there are more than enough posts on RS that have ended in fail when doing it outside of icbc :flamemad:

yeah that's a good idea, he was really young, 1988, so i gave him some slack.. but yeah i just remember he can pay out the damage to ICBC.. and i don't really care about the depreciation on my car... i'll give the guy a call tomorrow and let him know or discuss it further

report to ICBC and let them pay ICBC... live and learn.... and she definitely needed to learn.

ICBC will only pay for 8 weeks (I think) of treatment from the day of the accident, and if you don't get your neck fixed soon, it'll hurt more later.

always report to ICBC.

you can always choose not to claim later, however if you get no info and he drives away no one is gonna pay for any hidden damages you may discover later.

my car looked fine in the sunlight, but on closer inspection there is a clear outline of her liscence plate frame embedded on my car's rear.

shit, even the dead bugs from her car are on my car's ass.

on a side note: if you ever go retarded and decide to settle out of ICBC, make sure both oparties sign a legal agreement that the matter is finished and will not seek further damages in the future. get a witness too.

Yesterday someone almost cut into my lane and took out a huge chunk out of my drivers side, sometimes when you're driving a POS you want ppl to hit your car so you can get it repainted etc. :haha:

except my stig-like driving instincts kicked in and i avoided it DAMN!

Dude did u file a "Body Injury" claim yet? Theres a small window to do it.

And settling outside icbc isnt always bad unless u run into total assholes that keep delaying because of ( insert lame excuse here). Only reason why icbc wants u to do this is because it saves admin work and time. Time they could be using figuring out the next gimmick Cover story for their misc fees.

i was rear ended on the night of christmas eve. the guy wanted to settle outside of icbc. i told him we that we could, but afterwards i realized that if it wasn't documented, if he were to sell his car, he could claim that there were no accidents and rip off that other person. also, because my back hurt for a little while, if i were to get rear ended again and decided to sue, my case/settlement would be stronger since there were 2 recorded accidents.

even if i'm totally in the clear, i like to be ready with ICBC.

sept 2008 - i get smashed by a guy turning-left through a green light, and i had right of way

ICBC determines 100% fault to the other guy, they order me a replacement carbon hood (since gemini is gone, they order a seibon)... ok, seibon should be good right? the new hood fucking scratches (deeply) the new bumper, and has totally a wrong shape (never trusting seibon again).

Now they're like... well, we can't return that hood, it's non-refundable... oh what about the fact that the one i had on it previously fit like a dream and had an insanely awesome weave?

it's now august 2009, and i still haven't got shit from them... yay for suing ICBC.

went to icbc today. the other party didn't contact them (no surprise). i should be 100% in the clear. damage estimated at about $500 no structural damage. the adjuster lady and the estimator comlimented me on my car :)
