Good and reasonably priced flat-tire repair shop

Any one know a good tire repair shop that is reasonably priced? I got a flat tire today and don't know which one to go to. I've tried Fountain Tires on Kingsway before it wasn't bad, but still want some input on this matter though. Thanks!

Sun Tire in Bby on Norland Ave.
Otherwise I would say go to Canadian tire and get the kit and do it yourself. Its so easy.
Then if friends get a flat charge them $5 with the spares and it pays for itself.

Kal Tire

Off topic a bit, but I prefer patch fix over the usual DIY plug method. What say the rest of you guys?

Plugs were a common thing in the old days, then the patch became the preferred method. Now they say the plug method is becoming popular again. Has something to do with the way they make tires? Can any experts out there chime in?

kal tire. would rather pay the extra $$$ to patch from the inside than plug from the outside (because i had a plug leak on me afterwards... made for a very long day after it happened and i ended up losing the tire as well )

Plugs are good cause they seal where the belts may have broken and prevent air from leaking between layers. Downside is they can pull out/wear out.

Best tire repair is done with a combination patch/plug. You prep/cement the inside of the tire like you would a patch and pull the plug out from the inside until the patch portion contacts the repair site. Stitch then cut the nub.

These are what we used when I worked at OK Tire on Main/33rd 13 years ago. They also have some new, high tech tire machine I saw when I got an alignment done there last month. Not the cheapest place to go but definately quality work.

how much would we be expecting to get a flat tire repair done at kal-tire?

for the canadian tire method, you guys are talking about this item right? http://www.canadiantire.ca/AST/brows...pair%2BKit.jsp

it says that the tire repair only lasts up to 300km...

I would get the repair done at a reputable tire shop. Saving money is not as important as getting the job done right. It's your life and others you put at risk if you cheap out on things like brakes, suspension, and tires. I would go to a tire shop, not Canadian Tire, unless you know the people there. You can't go wrong with places like Kal Tire, OK Tires, etc. No fly by night places or places where they don't speaka your language......... no, that didn't come out right. You get what I mean.........

Your leak might be in a dangerous area of the tire (sidewall) and fixing it yourself may lead to further damage to your vehicle. A tire specialist who deals with nothing but tires is your best bet. Perhaps there are other problems with the tire that only a specialist will see.

As for cost, 15 bucks? It has been a while, but that's how much it cost me the last time I had to pay. The last time was a free fix at Kal Tire. Hell, even 30 bucks is good for peace of mind, when you think about it
