Last time I got booze I didn't like as a gift, I returned it to the Liquor store. Obviously has to be unopened, but even if you don't have a receipt, they'll take it back. I've done it a couple times now, had zero issues eash time. All were at a BC Liquor store.

Don't except a lowball offer until you at least try getting the store price for it. Even if the rules have changed(?) it's still worth a shot.
