It's not a WoW competitor, it's a new MMO and that's it. I don't understand why everyone assumes that all new MMO's are "WoW competitors" or "WoW Killers". This will be a competitor when it has 5+million subscribers/players.

yeah still a good deal to buy online, but 59.99 on the site is in US, so make sure you know that. Steam where I got it from doesn't charge tax so thats also an added bonus.

im supposed to play with an ex-gf of mine on yustiel, but if a lot of you are playing on another server i dont mind switching.

i havent tried WoW due to fear of addiction, but I can say this game is worth playing.

a lot of my friends go like "why are u paying for a mmo".. blah blah blah... its obvious "free" mmos are all just freemiums, some games are gayer than others, like if you dont pay you'll be severely underpowered vs. those who pay, and this and that won't be granted access to... (thats why i quit Runes of Magic, it seemed hopeless in the long run).

Aion sticks to the original mmo formula, but as a newer game definitely packs a lot of neat features like flying, meaningful combat (its very hard and time consuming to go shot for shot with a mob your level, you have to practically utilize all your skills and chain em), and a lot of other stuff i presume, which i dont know since i only got to lv 12 in beta.

give it a try, its worth playing imo, follows the original mmo formula. 1-10 is sorta a bitch though. took me 3 days the first time because too laggy and kept ragequitting. should take 2-3 hours only, so not that bad.

getting to fly after is pretty fun.

Only at eb. FS and BB have a problem with NCsoft, so they do not carry Aion. Found out the hard way on launch day :X

well thats what i mean, WoW changed all that. Look at all the MMOs before WoW, it was all grinding, thats it. Quests in those game gave you little exp, grinding was how you lvled

I'm lvl 22 templar and grinding is hell for me.
I kill super slow and have to rest after 1~2 monster.
I have trouble killing monster 3~4 level higher than me.
While my Spirit Master friend is killing monster 5~6 level higher than him at a fast rate too.
And the spammer and bots are quite annoying. You basically have to block like 10 or more spammer before you can even use the all chat.
And the GM service are horrible.
I think is just that we all got used to WOW.

Good think I didn't get it. I hate grinding lol. Got all the BoA stuff for my warlock in WoW AND I LEVEL SO DARN QUICK 120% EXP AND EPIC FLYER =d. Got to lvl 76 in just a few days lol(I was lvl 70). With a lock I just DoT's DoT's DoT's send my felguard to grab aggro and AoE THEM ALL. =D

Be careful lol. I know a few ppl who have that issue and they die (maybe jumping to off a cliff or somethingO_O). She also said is a bitch when u die coz u lose exp, durability and it annoying to ge though the whole porcess of begging ressurcts.

there are just as much botters on WoW ... u don't realize until you start using the bots lol ... pretty much there is no way to avoid having botters in an mmo ... but also WoW is not really leveling intensive, so the bots aren't being ran for a long time ... also probably in every SOTA there are 2+ botters, you know cuz they are running to the same WPs as you lol ... sad thing is that the bots are so advanced that you are actually able to kill real players while botting so most people won't suspect that you are botting ... if you bot PvP in Aion, you probably just lose all your abyss points in a day ...

NA stand for North America, CN stands for China
because the .exe or .bin file are different ... for example the pointer to read the health address would not work since the address was moved to another place ...
so pretty much some1 can just update the pointers and make the bot work on NA server ... but you need the source code of the program to modify stuff like that ...
another thing is that the anti-hack protection for the 2 servers might be different, so it might be a lot of work to modify it to bypass the anti-hack too ...

i do enjoy this game quite a bit, it brings back memories of Raganork Online for me a lot of years back, i don't mind the grind that much. FOR NOW. =)

But i must say, the bots are very rampant.

50 now, working on miragents/fenris quest... 4th step is brutal.

this game is grind heavy, low by asian standards, high if you compare it to welfare epics like wow.

still enjoying this game for now.

i like the idea of not having to run with 25 other people to get things done.

6people in a group gets you access to all endgame content.

Dredgion is mad fun.

i'm with dna. I quite enjoy this game because of the grind acutally. Different type of grind vs WoW. It really shows the difference in people who put effort in and those that do nothing but get the same gear.

I play roughly 3-4hrs a week? So very casual but i prefer it a lot more to wow.

The non-25man run is ++++++ 5-6man runs are way better

Been playing it for last month, got bored one day and re-upped. Not bad things are a lot easier. But from like 10 servers it's down to 4.

Pretty Decent now imho.
