speedtest.net glitching?

my shaw was feeling little slow so I ran speedtest
I have regular high speed, not the xtreme whatever
speedtest.net is showing that my speed is over 25mbps, not possbile by any service offered from shaw.
High-speed warp offers up to 25mbps, even then, actual speed is usualy no where near what is advertised.
and it sure does not feel like 25mbps
anyone else with shaw, give it a try?

im on highspeed extreme 1 and it says im getting 28.53 mb dl and a lol of a .8mb ul
i have been getting speeds like this since they gave their customers that 50% speed boost
Mine DOES feel as fast as it says it is however as i have had some download in the 3.1-3.3 mbps range

because telus fucked up and none of us can stream anything from the net.

please google the word " power boost ", and you will see why
high speed maxes out @ 7.5mb and extreme @ 15mb, that's if the server on the other side allows that fast of traffic.

+1. My speed is REALLY fucking spotty with their regular High Speed. Sites like RS and Craigslist load up fine with some slowdown, and Youtube won't load videos at all.
It's good to know that I'm not alone.

high-speed internet comes included with powerboost (http://www.shaw.ca/en-ca/ProductsServices/Internet/PowerBoost/) as long as you're using a docsis modem as mentioned by jonydakiller
only downside to having powerboost is you can't get a more accurate reading of your speed tests

yes I've been having issues with Sunday night as well but it's gotten better gradually throughout the last 2 days. I wonder if this is a Telus-only issue or is it affecting ALL ISPs...
I"m ok now on speedtest.net but on some other sites it's still slow as hell

I remember my friend having problems with telus a few years ago. He would play CS with me with like 500ms to 1000ms ping and still own everyone. :lol
Took Telus WEEKS (literally) to solve the problem. Their tech support was in Alberta and no one there gave a flying fook... then my friend switched to Shaw Extreme.
It wouldn't surprise me if Telus is testing out traffic shaping and completely fucked it up.
