I don't know about that man. I use msn and it notifies me that i have email. Even then I check it like once every other day cuz im freaking lazy and never really get anything worth looking at. If it weren't for msn I wouldn't check my email AT ALL. On top of that if i were on a trip i probably wouldn't even think about email/internet. Trust me i've been on several trips where I've forgotten about it.

but did your GF or family/friends KNOW you went on a trip and said "ok i don't need to hear your voice for 2 weeks or even care if you're dead"

not saying you, but some people don't have friends or family. if they died today, no one would know till the neighbors complained about the smell. a russian guy had prepaid rent from his bank for 2 years. they found his skeleton in front of his TV after his rent ran out.

here are some easy things either could have done to avoid this issue.
-call home or text someone. anyone.
-she could have WALKED over to his mom's house and talked to her.
-the mom could have asked one of his friends for the GF's phone #
-he could have turned on his phone fucking ONE TIME. text notifications would appear.
-email her at some point.

someone mentioned you go on trips and don't wanna hear shit from home IE: no contact. Boo fucking hoo princess. butch up and accept life sometimes gives you shit. its not like they are 12 and snuck away to a friends house for the weekend.

yes, because not checking email means that nothing is affected by your absence. or maybe it means that you're not an irresponsible douche and you can actually take care of everything in advance before you leave for vacation.
