Did anyone else go today?

All proceeds of Blizzard sales go to charity.

A damn good excuse to get some some ice cream.

All proceeds means minus the cost of ingredients... and I heard that apparently for a $5 Blizzard, they claim to use like $4 of ingredients... although of course, in reality it's probably like 25¢... but impossible to know exactly how much of your purchase price is donated.

I talked to the manager and he said they get 35 cents for every Blizzard sold to cover costs (labour?). The rest is donated to charity by their corp, I guess. The place I went to tonight was packed until closing. I took my family and spent close to $25.00. They were churning them out like crazy.

Co-workers went this afternoon.

Manager sent a department wide public email about it yesterday.

Cool. It's for a good cause. Otherwise, I'd be too cheap to buy one. Cookie Dough, FTW!

How do we know this money was being well spent? I've donated money to united way through a paycheck program and I didn't do it again, because I don't understand how the money is spent.

Very true. A lot of charity organizations are either corrupt or very inefficient. Only a small fraction of your money ever makes it to the people who need it.

Still, it's better than nothing. Plus, it's ice cream and I know it has nothing to do with some crazy religious group.
