So you purchased a macbook only for msn messenger???

I think you wouldve been better off with a Dell.

BTW to answer you question you will need to purchase a copy of parallels and a Windows XP CD Key.

well not quite. . . i traded my sony vaio FZ260E for a macbook.
just thought it was a pretty good deal for me and it was time for me to use something new anyways. .
besides i never used my vaio to play bluray movies and battery life sucked

yeah the Mac version of MSN messenger sucks big time. But yeah you'll need either parallels or vmware to install inside of osx.. or dualboot with bootcamp. Tons and I mean TONS of tutorials online for this.

Only because I do infact sell and repairs with dells on a daily basis... The reason why I recommend is because of their warranty.. Product wise it would be the same as any other notebook... But warranty and the way these systems come apart a 6 yr old could do it... So dells are very user friendly aswell as their customer support is off da hook!!!

The build quality of my current Dell XPS is garbage, oh and it runs like a heap of shit; Also, Windows Live messenger sucks balls. And by that I mean there are better chat programs out there for Mac, ones that don't fail.

Well within my experiece, Dell is computer god to all Businesses... So no matter what you say about your build quality and what a heap of shit it is.. If you dont like it then dont buy it... Your one sale is nothing compared to all the large businesses that spend thousands on computers yearly.. Yet you dont see these businesses spending money on macbooks... Just like most people these businesses go through refreshes every 3 years and they always stick to dell... Also if your under warranty you can replace anything and i mean anything you can even call in to get 4 screws if you needed too, so if you have a faulty part then i would jsut get it replaced.. Hell they even send technicians to your font door.

There is a very big difference between Dell corporate service and an individual owner service.

Dells service for the general public is one of the worst in the industry, don’t believe me call customer service and try to speak with someone who's first language is English.

I'm used to dealing with Dell's gold support for our servers and pc's... I'm never on the phone for more than 20 mins and it's no questions asked. They even ask if about little things like if a laptop is missing any feet or if there are any scratches on them. By the time the tech leaves, the laptop is pretty much refurbished.

Then one day, the XPS M2010 died.... the only computer in the company that doesn't have the gold support and I was on the phone with Dell for 8 freakin hours in total before they sent a replacement. They replaced the motherboard 3 times before I convinced them to send a replacement... waited two weeks, didn't arrive and they call me to let me know the M2010 is end of life so they have to send me an M1730. Another two weeks before that arrived. A 2 month ordeal. In the end, a $4000 laptop was replaced with one that cost half that.

Lesson, get the gold support if you can.

Werd. I hear them almost on a daily basis. Corporate support is great which is why we use them in the office.

what he said, they are all easy to use and pretty straight forward, just be careful when formatting your partitioned harddrive using bootcamp, make sure you don't use quick format or the drive won't work.
