I cant believe im doing this, but ill put it up...i hope it finds a caring owner, that can enjoy it as much as i have. this is a vehicle you want for summer or to dominate the winter roads, and have great gas mileage while your at it.
1991 JDM Toyota Hilux Surf 2.4L Turbo Diesel(with upgraded 2.8L head($5000 upgrade with genuine parts)
Trim: SSR-X Widebody
When i purchased the truck(knowing from extensive research) I knew the 2.4L head was prone to cracking. So within a week of buying the truck I took it into Bond Mechanical and had them swap the head over to a 2.8L head(which is what all hilux owners do to fix the problem).
-New Genuine JDM Toyota 2.8liter(3L) Head
-New Genuine JDM Toyota Headgasket
-New Genuine JDM Toyota Thermostat/Gasket
-New Genuine JDM Toyota Head bolts
-Heater Control Valve
-Valve Grind kit
-water pump
-timing belt/tensioner
everything that goes with a headswap was done. (HAVE ALL RECIEPTS)
I also have the Pre-purchase inspection from when i first purchased it. Got the inspection done at NorthShore Toyota.
they found
-oil seepage coming from the valve cover, which was fixed with the head swap.
-recommended an oil change and new air filter(which i all ordered in and changed right away)
-and streaking wipers, which i swapped out as well

-Had 99,066kms when i bought it
Now Has 112,000kms as of Nov.23/09
-No accidents/clean title
-Automatic
-4x4 on the fly
-Has A/C, but needs to be recharged
-4 cyl, amazing on fuel for an Suv (450kms per $40-$45 fill up) if you wanna make your own bio-diesel then it costs nothing for fuel.
-Power Windows + power rear window
-Power Locks
-Rear passenger climate control
-2 level on-the-fly suspension dampening(adjusted my switch inside cab)
-Keyless Entry
-NuStart Alarm w/ 2 lcd pagers and Remote Start
-Sunroof
-Rubber Cargo mat
-JDM Window visors
-JDM Bullbar w/ PIAA bushlights(NEW PIAA Super Brights(Nov. 21st/09))
-31" Yokahama Geolander i/T's plenty of tread
-JDM Rear swing out Spare Tire rack w/ spare tire.
-Side steps
-New brake pads and Calipers(Nov. 20th/09)
-New Custom Exhaust(still a silent exhaust)(Nov. 20th/09)
-New Glowplugs(Nov. 23rd/09)
-new Pionneer CD/MP3 deck with rear usb cable running into the glovebox
-Whatever the JDM equivilant is to Rhino underbody spray has been done the bottom to stop any rusting
-The frame of this truck is sooo mint that it still has the amazing black frame spray from the factory.
does not include roof racks shown, but does include thule standered roof bars, you just have to buy the 4runner adapters to mount it to the roof(currently has Saab 93 ones)
Interior is 10/10
Exterior is 7/10 (rock chips here and there, and the roof is fading, but the rest of the paint on the body is great)
History:
A prof from UBC imported this truck, not to sure how long he drove it for, but i bought it off him(second owner since in canada). this Prof seemed pretty anal, he had plastic covering all the seats and steering wheels(he might have been trying to kill me cleanly, but it definately kept the interior MMMIIIINNNTTT)
Reasons for selling:
1) i work at a camp doing industrial firefighting up near the Toba inlet(powell river area) and it is only accessible via floatplane, so i rarely get to drive this truck(3 weeks on 1 week off). it has only really been driven between kamloops/kelowna and north vancouver, and a recent trip i made to tofino with it(hence me only putting less than 9,000 kms on it in the year i have owned it)
2)my fiancees parents(aka mom inlaw) thinks its unsafe that i drive a RHD vehicle and gets on my case about having her daughter on the oncoming traffic side of the truck. and i hate getting nagged by her mom, and that is the main reason.
Normal hiluxs around this mileage with the 2.4L trouble engines that are in average condition range from 7500-9000.
So with the swapped out head, which makes the truck bullet proof and completely unmoddified/original truck i find $10,600OBO a fair asking price. if you do not agree hit 'back on your explorer tab and dont leave trash talk here.
this isnt your average, run-of-the-mill truck/suv
or willing to trade for an civic, integra, or awd vehicle(car) if older car of lesser value, you must also put money on top.
