ya i saw that. drove by and slowed down to see someone lying on the sidewalk being surrounded by cops. couldnt tell if it was a junkie, or someone that was hurt. then 2 min later as i drove by it again i saw an ambulance.

wasnt anywhere near mcdonalds itself really though.

RICHMOND (NEWS1130) - A McDonald's restaurant in Richmond was the scene of a violent crime last night. Police have Number 3 Road at Granville Avenue in Richmond blocked off as they investigate a fatal double stabbing.

Reports of a fight prompted police to head to the fast food chain where they found the two victims suffering from stab wounds -- both died at the scene.

Thanks to a good description by employees and customers who witnessed the incident police were able to arrest a man a couple of blocks away -- he's still in custody.

Corporal Dale Carr with the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team tells News1130 it's unclear if the victims and suspect knew each other. "Not sure if we've actually completely identified who the suspect is, getting all the details from the on-scene members and then we'll be working through identifying who he is, how he's known to police if anything." Carr says information on the victims won't be released until their families have been notified.

so were the 2 who died assholes and picked a fight with the wrong guy

Not HS kids, the victims were both 37, suspect is 33.

RICHMOND (NEWS1130) - A man and a woman are dead after being stabbed in a Richmond McDonald's last night. RCMP and the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team continue to have Number 3 Road at Granville Avenue blocked off while they continue to sweep the area for evidence.

Reports of a fight prompted police to head to the fast food chain where they found the two victims suffering from stab wounds. The 37-year-old man and a woman, whose identity is unclear, both died at the scene.

Thanks to a good description by employees and customers who witnessed the incident, Mounties were able to arrest a 33-year-old man a couple of blocks away. He remains in custody.

Corporal Dale Carr with IHIT says it appears the victims and suspect know each other, "To what extent, we're still working through that. It's our belief at this point in the investigation that stands to be corrected if we find other information. But at this point we believe they are known to each other."

Investigators are looking for a woman who encountered a police dog near the scene as officers arrived, as well as two men inside the McDonalds who ran away.

wow...i sorta played it off as another hs stabbing when i heard about it (hs stabbings seem to be so common so i just assumed it was another and didn't even read article). I wonder wtf this is about then

i remember there was a killing in steveston i think that involved 37 year olds...and that ended up being about a brother stabbing a brother or something fucked up like that.

I saw this yesterday when I was leaving a friend's house around 1am.

They had the entire McDonalds + Granville/#3 section blocked off. There must have been at least 10+ squad cars there with their lights on.

I saw that when I was going home at around 4am.

The whole entire area was blocked off from Where the Petro Canada is to the Mcdonalds.

There were 22934829 cruisers and ghost cars there.

Abbotsford (NEWS1130) - Charges have been laid in Friday’s stabbing death of a 36-year-old Abbotsford man.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team says both 25-year-old Michael Allan Froese and 28-year-old Melissa Linda Cox have been charged with first degree murder. IHIT says both the suspects and victim knew eachother. It's unknown whether there's a connection to drugs or organized crime.Cox and Froese make their first appearance in Abbotsford Provincial Court on Monday.

in abby a man and woman stabs a 36 year old to death and they all might have known each other in some way shape or form

all it needed was to happen in a fast food place too

Second degree murder charges laid in Richmond stabbing deaths
Chang Wang charged in homicides at Richmond McDonald's
Sonia Aslam RICHMOND (NEWS1130) | Monday, August 31st, 2009 11:02 am

RICHMOND (NEWS1130) - Two charges of second-degree murder have now been approved against Chang Wang, 33, of Richmond, in connection with the stabbing deaths of Zhe Hu, 37, and Yan Lin, 36, at a Richmond McDonald's over the weekend.

Corporal Dale Carr with the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) will not confirm the accused was actually the female (Yan Lin) victim's ex-husband. "We would categorize this as a domestic style homicide. They were known to each other, and Miss Lin was involved in a relationship with one of the two males. It's not my role to get into the deep, dark secrets of Yan...she's gone and her family are grieving. It was a brutal murder and we're very fortunate to have one in custody."

Wang is expected to be appearing in Richmond court today.

Meanwhile, IHIT still want to speak to three potential witnesses that were seen in the area around the time of the assault. One is a woman who was approached by the Police Service Dog and handler on Granville Street that night. The two others are men that were inside the restaurant at the time the assault began. Both men were in different areas of the restaurant and at the time, and both immediately left the McDonald's.
