yeah i heard about that this morning

at first i thought Marvel was being stupid for selling out since they just made their own production company and they have a great line up and the idea of making the films part of the same world was a BIG FAT +

but then i heard how much they sold for rofl insane but worth it


The acquisition, which has been approved by the boards of both companies but still must be approved by Marvel shareholders, started to come together several months ago when Disney’s chief executive, Robert A. Iger, reached out to Marvel’s chief executive, Ike Perlmutter. Talks heated up in the last two weeks, with Disney agreeing to one of Marvel’s top demands: that stock be part of the deal.

Under the deal, Marvel shareholders will receive $30 a share in cash plus about 0.745 Disney shares for each Marvel share. The deal is valued at $50 a share, a 29 percent premium on Marvel stock.

This is great news. This means more money for better special effects for Iron Man sequels and big name producers like Jerry Bruckheimer can possibly restart and replace that shitty X-Men franchise.

Some of those franchises, eg: X Men are still locked up with Fox for a few more films.

^^^^ yeah which sucks, or else Marvel would have done it right with their own production company (thats why Iron Man and to a lesser extent the new hulk rock so much because it was Marvels production company that made the films)
