never buy any cheap used car in Asia.

2003 320i, registered in 2007.
Police suspects the car was salvaged and put together again.
luckily they survived

^ but there are so many accidents where the lego car is hit by another car and it split up. Just don't buy a cheap car in Asia. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

From the illustration, the passenger was ejected. Was that due to shoddy crapsmanship or was it a case of natural selection of 'tards that don't wear seatbelts?

Probably both.

i don't think it would have mattered if the passenger had a belt on or not... the b-pillar on the passenger side ripped away with the rear half of the car, and the only thing left of the front passenger seat is the bottom cushion still attached to the front half of the car :o

Should have gotten HKMI (http://www.hkmi.com.hk/) to inspect the car before buying. Never buy from used car dealership, never trust HKAA and never trust those private garages doing the inspections. It's around ~900HKD for a thorough inspection from HKMI and is well worth it.

you dont have to go to HK to find welded cars, it's almost a common practise here. but any car enthusiast with at least half a brain would check the basic structural quality of a car then assess whether it's worth it or not.

Weren't there cases a few years back that there's a few BMW 3 series that snapped after a crash in GVRD? and those aren't rebuilt either, just somehow the 3 are easy to snap.
