: Made to fit suit

Would it make more sense for me to just get a bespoke suit made, rather than buying made to wear suits and getting them tailored?

I remember when I was in HK this was the case, where you could get a suit made for less than $200 CAD easily, but I'm assuming it's completely different here, so wondering what you guys think.

I Can't find a single made to wear suit that fits good enough, and always will have to end up getting it tailored :( this seems like an inefficient use of $$$

Anyone had a suit made here? How much was it? How long does it take?

You're going to be hardpressed to find a custom-made suit for under $200 locally...

I heard there's a tailor that sets up at the Casino once or twice a year and he does made-to-fit suits for a decent price. Not sure the details though.

I'm not expecting $200,
But with a made to wear suit and getting it tailored I'll probably be looking at $400-$500 minimum right?

i doubt you will be able to find anything for 200 CAD but if you do be sure to let the rest of RS know lol :p

i don't back to HK often so i just have to bite the bullet and cough up the cash here. I got my work suits made from Brooks Brothers, its expensive but I find it worth the money.

I tried getting a suit made from Harry's and they managed to screw it up 3 times. So don't bother with them.

You can always head south and check out some of the outlet stores. My buddy went down to Seattle and picked up a Hugo Boss suit for $350... all he had to do was get the pants hemmed and he was good to go.

^I did... :haha: It needed to be tailored, Haven't done it yet though, but yeah they are a pretty good deal and fit okay, still tailor necessary IMO, they have an extra slim fit that didn't need to be tailored but yeah, next time, next time,

How much was it for brooks brothers?

I think Tapioca (search for his posts) went to HK and picked himself up a nice tailored suit for under $600 if I recall correctly.

when ever you get it suit...just make sure they use a proper canvas, should be a wool canvas rather than poly blend

For full out bespoke you're looking at least 1500. For MTM, at least 800 locally.

oO got potential, must find out about the price, seems like made to fit doesn't make sense financially in vancouver though, i'll stick with made to wear ones
