Due to her recent violet outburst at the lineswoman. She was fined 10,000 which is the ".. maximum on-site penalty a Grand Slam tennis tournament can issue for unsportsmanlike conduct"

Serena is under investigation and faces an adittional 250k fine or all of her prize money whichever is greater. She won 350k that round.

and

a possible lifetime suspension from any Grand Slam or Tennis Masters events.

Also fined $500 for racquet abuse in the same match.

Emotional outbursts are frequent, however when they are directed at a referee on or off a tennis court, the law comes down like an anvil.

: "I swear to God I'll fucking take this ball and shove it down your fucking throat! Do you hear me? I swear to God. You better be glad--you better be fucking glad that I'm not, I swear."

If they called foot faults more consistantly, they would be more likely to penalize the crap out of her. The fact that they're usually not called during crucial points in a match and her history as a big name player will probably get her off with just a fine.

Either way, bad move.
