Besides Google, Youtube and Revscene we all know how popular Facebook has become these days. It literally rules everyone's lives who use the internet, more or less. I haven't met anyone who actively uses the internet on a regular basis that doesn't have or use Facebook, until now.
One of my friends cousins apparently does not have Facebook nor intends to sign up for an account. Talk about a first wowzers. I thought everyone had a Facebook account (well almost everyone)

Just curious what you think about this. Do you think someone who does not use Facebook is out of tune or a harsher way to put it " a loser with no little to no friends?"

lots of my friends refuse to use facebook, they dont want everyone knowing their every move and creeping on photos.

i delete my account all the time, bring it back for a few weeks, then delete it again for a few weeks.

i have an account on facebook, but it's only to keep in touch with friends and family overseas that i used to be unable to keep in touch with on a regular basis before. otherwise i have little use for it. like someone else said, my personal life is personal, and like stewie said i don't really care to know every little detail of other people's lives... all my personal info listed is bogus and i used a pic of my co-workers dog for the personal profile pic.

Just to think, a few years ago no one was using the internet to socially network in such a scale as facebook. Now everyone has it! Now the real question is... Who is the individual most disadvantaged? Those who use facebook or those who do not?

haha i was having a class debate about this earlier this week..
the general populous was pretty 50/50 on it

some people hated it and were very bitter about it

while others couldn't live without it..

it had both it's pros and it's cons

PRO

-good way to keep in touch with friends
-good way to network
-good way to keep track of events
-good way to kill time

CON

-once your pictures are uploaded onto facebook they become facebook property
-your private life is broadcasted. So co-workers and employers use it to dig up information about potential employees ( so if they see you standing on top of a bar shirtless dancing around half naked doing coke off someones ass, it might show a lack in judgment and poor character on your part. Yes there are privacy features and facebook is getting better at making it more secure)

there's really a lot more but i ain't going to waste n e more time on this. technology is a fast paced industry so weather you like it or not, it's going to be here.. and so are the people that use it.

i deleted all my work contacts from FB a few days ago. even those who are friends.
i just find that theres too much info and not enough privacy between ppl on fb.

for the next gen fb i'll probably have a more anonymous name... dont want coworkers/employers trying to see any of my info

if you're between 16-24 and currently single, then yea.. most of them uses facebook A LOT (500+ friends, 1k+ photos)

if you're not in the above category .. then chances are you don't really use it.. but many will still have an account (maybe around 100-200 friends and barely post anything)

xanga/myspace/asianavenue were all very popular prior to facebook..but i guess facebook drew everyone together.
