I want to sell my laptop to buy desktop and I wanted to know what to ask for...

Sony Vaio VGN-SZ series

Core2duo T5600 1.83ghz
2GB ram
120GB HDD
Nvidia Go 7400(can switch on to Intel onboard video card for longer battery life)
Vista 32bit Business edition
+ one extra batter pack(paid $200+)

price when I bought it(winter 07) was over $2000
basicallly same as this one with little bit of difference in specs

Somewhere around $500 sounds about right.

I would start at $800 at the minimum. The resale market of used laptops is surprisingly strong...

I sold a similar one earlier this year. Better Processor.
People low ball like no tomorrow so leave yourself some margin space. Perhaps 800-1000?
I would've kept it if it wasn't for the gay keyboard layout =[
Looks sleek and clean. <3

um.... the SZ series is quite old, centrino 5600 isnt bad 2GB ram can be upgraded same with the harddrive. Since it's a business laptop (sorta) you can prob get 500+

compaq (http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?logon=&langid=EN&sku_id=0665000FS10127831&catid=)500$
LG (http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?logon=&langid=EN&sku_id=0665000FS10126558&catid=) 1000$
Sony (http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?sku_id=0665000FS10127859) 1000$

Wouldnt go as far as 1000$. The link above for Sony one is way better everything and is 1000$ new.
Even the 500$ Compaq has all better specs,

But since it has the SONY name,
right now id say 500-800MAX about right for your laptop.

laptop costs have really come down in the last 2 years.

It can be sold higher since you can switch from On board to video card. That saves a lot of power. This is the only laptop that offers this. I would have sold mine but my Motherboard is apparently cracked so no point.

No it doesn't... it has an AMD Athlon X2 processor... nowhere as good as a Core2Duo.

^^even though it still has that function, its 2 years old. battery life has probably decreased dramatically.
