shaw internet problem?

For the past 2 weeks my internet has been going down a few times a night (usually around 10pm-2am). I'm on the old terayon modem, and it keeps disconnecting and blink red. I'm in the 41st and Oak area, anybody else experiencing this?
This is getting super annoying, especially while playing TF2 where it spikes like mad before fully disconnecting.

y dont u try calling in and getting the new motorola modem first? that terayon modem is like 8 years old.

I will eventually resort to that, however, right now I am just curious as to whether it's a problem on my end or if it's a neighbourhood thing.

i called in like a month ago and they said they were phasing out the terayon modems by the end of the year. Maybe its starting to die on you?

I have X-treme hi speed, with the new Motorola modem, and I've had .5-1.5 mbps download these last two weeks which have been unbearable, since I'm supposed to get up to 15 mbps. I've called them and they are sending in a tech on Friday hopefully they find the problem. They said that maybe someone was downloading a lot of torrents in my area as well. I've been reading in other places that a lot of Telus customers have been switching to Shaw, which has put more load on their servers.

I called Shaw, cuz its been happening here too at those times and they say they're doing upgrades in the area

nothing wrong with my shaw internet, do yourself a favor and upgrade to the current motorola modem. I had the shitty teryon modem for the longest time and since i've upgraded about a year ago its hella fast. I was getting at most 5mbps with the teryon. With the motorola I'm getting 15mbps. Big difference :)
