I bought a regular ipod about 3 years ago and HATED it. Every time I plugged it into someones computer, it erassed my music. Are the ipod touches still the same way?

Anyways... Would it be best to get a 2nd or 3rd gen 8gb touch??

And should I get it from Futureshop or Wallmart.... who has the better warranty??

Warranty is same from Apple. Although you can buy extended warranty at futureshop for sure.

I guess you should get it at wherever is on sale.

i think your ipod gets erased because of your itunes settings. if you set your itunes to manually manage music library then it won't automatically erase all your shit. therefore i don't think you need a new ipod :D

Thats exactly waht your problem is.. Most people allow Itunes to put whatever is in their library in their Ipod, but what most dont know is whats not in the library gets deleted from your ipod.. If you manually manage music and drag & drop then you would have no problems.

well im selling a itouch if your interested ;)

btw i agree w/ dragon-88. all you have to do so your music wont be lost is not to sync your ipod, and just drag and drop works just as fine.

so futureshop is 199 and $79 for a 2yr warranty. walmart is 198 and $40 for a 2yr warranty. Both are in-store warrantys. Walmart also has a apple i-care warranty on sale for $40

Sales guy at futureshop said the 1yr warranty dosnt include (buttons, ear phone jack, battery, screen, etc) So what exactly is covered??? If it wasnt for such a shitty warranty I would've got one today but now i'm having 2nd thoughts.

Skip the warranty. Buy it with a credit card that will add an extra year to your warranty for free.

that only extends the crappy manufacture's warranty, I found out with my iPhone.

Get the extended warranty, imo ya it's quite a bit but ask for a deal, they give it to you then get it. If not move on to the next guy. They always can give you a deal when you get the warranty.

to have your music NOT be erased...you have to change your settings on itunes. don't let it automatically sync, and it won't.
try that first. save yourself some money.
