mind as well bump this ...

looking at CP1350PFCLCD ... is this overkill for a system that uses ~350W (i used an online PSU calculator)? have two monitors, router, modem, and a printer. i don't know much about UPS's and mostly only see APC systems. Read into the reviews a bit more and everyone's complaining about their lack of support for active PFC PSU. So the next brand I looked at was CyberPower.

any suggestions would be appreciated. TIA

Probably. At the size you're looking at it'll be more about how long the battery will last during an outage vs how much more protection it'll offer. But if you can get a good deal on it why not?

i just need it to shut off properly, more than actually working on it for another 15 minutes. after PM the 850 is about 10x, the 1000 is about 12x, and the 1350 ix about 14x before tax.

Just get the 850. The ups is split into battery protected vs. Non protected. I only have the desktop and monitor plugged into the battery ports. The usb controlled software will auto shutdown the pc for you when it detects an outage. You can set how long to wait for the power to come back before shutdown too.

surge protectors are a waste. TV's should be plugged directly into the wall.
