well, cable company make tons of $ (more than the networks).

as shaw employee (a while back) we only paid $26 for the full cable package, that is every single channel (including pay channels, ie. porn, HBO, etc)
and PPY and SOD was half price.
so the cost of sending these channels to ur home is around or below $26 rest of the money is pocketed by shaw for improvements etc.
