I have a Toshiba 32" LCD 32HL57 hooked up to my computer. Been working fine for a while but last night, it broke.. I think. Went downstairs, came back up and there was no picture on any inputs. Only sound.

Anyone know at all how to fix this? Any advice is greatly appreciated :)

You are pretty much SOL.... If you can guarantee that its broken then there is no point in fixing it since it would prolly cost you more than a new one... If its still under warranty then you have a chance..

sounds like the backlight is burned out, when you put it on the PC input and shine a flashlight at the screen from an angle can you see anything?

There's a sort of glow when I turn it on. It's still black but it's not as black when it's off. I don't know if that made any sense. But I've google'd around before posting here and apparently, this model is shitty lol. There's a lot of issues regarding backlights. Anyone know how I can fix this personally? Or does it require a repairman?

You're better off buying a new one rather then getting it repaired if it has gone past your warranty.

Shit. That fucking sucks lol. Ok, this can be closed now. I guess I'll just sell it broken. Thanks for the response.

Sorry to bring up again, but does anyone know where I can maybe bring my TV to get it checked and, hopefully, repaired? I craigslist'd some but maybe someone here knows a reliable place? Thanks!

I know there used to be a lcd repair shop on rupert, in the same area as pet cetera. But honestly its not worth it... A new 32" is like 500+. Chances are they will charge you for diagnostic.. Roughly $75 plus charges to fix, $75/hr on top of parts and anything else required... At this point you are half way there in buying a new tv.... Like I say. why spend good money on something thats already shitty. Especially something that is known to have issues like you said..

if it's known to have problems see if a recall or anything has been issued.
