The best anal beads are the ones made from silicone or a durable plastic. Not only can you boil them (for cleaning) when you're done with them but they also are smoother than having to deal with nylon rope. Hard plastic isn't pleasant for anyone.. at all.
The smoothest anal toys are going to be made from glass (low friction, easy to clean) and remember the cardinal rule:
Make sure your sex toy is properly rated for the type of lube you're going to use. Silicone lube can break down condoms and some plastics, but is smoother and lasts longer. Water based lube is less greasy, cleans up easier, and is condom safe, but you may have to use more of.
