^ Many actually aren't bad when compared to other cities. The biggest differences between Vancouver and the rest of the world imo is a) there are lots of "gangstas", and b) they seem to enjoy making everyone deaf. Is it really that hard to turn down the volume a notch?
Off topic here, but anyone know any good loungey places in Vancouver where you can actually hear the other person talk and not have to guess every other word?

Not being able to exit once you go in is the most retarded shit ever. The whole atmosphere is so bad. Girls who think they are top 10 models when they are 18 year olds with heavy ass make up. Guys who think they are the leader of the triads. And then the guys who really are gangsters and start shit if you dance with one of their "girls" or something.
Overall, just an unfriendly atmosphere, something that a club should be totally opposite of.

you should try to go to other places. I find that those 3 are the ones with the worst experience.

I've been to asian clubs in Seattle, SF, and LA and I don't recall any of the experiences that RFlush mentioned about Vancouver clubs happening down there.
It's not even so much of the asian club experience in Vancouver. The nightclub scene here as a whole is just shitty. Anyone who has clubbed outside of Vancouver in other major cities can understand where we come from.

Agreed! In my circle of friends I'm known as the guy who will never go clubbing so people never bother asking me to go. I've given it a try in Vancouver for years before finally being fed up with it. I don't have anything against clubbing itself, just Vancouver clubs. For me personally I only want 2 things when it comes to clubbing or any party for that fact. Good vibe and good music and most of Vancouver's club don't have either, not even by a long shot. God I can't wait to go to Europe.

What's the difference ? The people girls/guys are all friendly. It really makes you WANT to go out and meet people and get numbers and shit. from my experiences, at caprice the bouncers rape u just to get in, one time the bouncer said 80 buks a head to me and 2 other buddies, even though we were on the guestlist, but because we showed up 5 mins before the guestlist line closed:confused: at the same time they were letting people in the regular line just walk in. alot of ppl i kno (guys and girls) always complain about how rude they are and how they always make u pay stupid amounts per head jst to walk in then u gta pay cover at the door, its understandable its a bumpin club and all but its not vegas for fucks sake.

Went clubbing last night @ Venom in Seattle and had a great time. $2 drinks until 11 and the bouncers were nice as shit.
I emailed the promoter Friday morning asking for VIP and he emailed me back a few hours later saying that we were on the list and that it only applied up to 11pm.
We got there and told the bouncer we were on the VIP list. He looked up my name, checked our IDs and we were in. We waited in line for 2 minutes and got in with free cover. That is what a vip gueslist should be.
None of this bullshit we have in vancouver. You get put on the guestlist and you still end up waiting like 20-30 minutes to go in. It's fucking bullshit up here.

i went to venue last night... the 2 bouncers and guest list checker i dealt with were all dicks. we arrived at 10:15 after pre-drinking at cafe crepe and we were on guest list. we had guest list of 25 and brought 20 people. some names werent on his list so he wouldnt let them in, even though we were under our guest list limit. he was totally unreasonable. next the bouncer held the line for 30 minutes even though all the girls we were with were freezing. of course, we get in and it was dead. why bother holding the line when you can only get in with guest list anyways? look impressive for all the people who have no chance of getting in without paying ?
later around 1:30 i got a huge craving for sushi so i left with a buddy to get some down the street. I came back and the bouncer wouldnt let me back in even though i had a stamp... he never gave me a reason as to why. he just told me something about no more stamps and pointed up the street... meanwhile he is letting all the drunk girls stumble back in holding onto each other so they dont fall over.
i spent a lot of money last night (for me) and the experience i had wasnt nearly worth it.
it was more fun at cafe crepe.

Venue is one of the better clubs in vancouver imo. That's wierd that your guestlist had individual names.. most of the time is like " Bob + 20" or something like that. That's how it was for us last time we went. Also its not usually a good idea to leave the club on a saturday espeically at 1:30 and try to get back in after. They usually wouldnt allow you unless it isn't busy. But its obvious u guys shouldve been allowed back in cause they were letting girls in.

stone temple, tonic, buffalo club or any of most of those trash clubs on granville. It's full of scrubs and most of the time overweight white girls.
the only ok club that i've been to on granville is the caprice.
bouncers are dicks most of the time here, ruining the atmosphere for all.
And honestly i rather listen to top 40 than some shitty ass live band. That shit is garbage i don't know how anyone listens to it. but I guess everyone has their own preference.

Best club is roosters. Once you get around the notion you are listening to country music, you'll have a great time. Only went their twice and my friend was the only brown dude lol. Girls are young but you can tell people go there to have a good time. Plus you get to see titties too.

20 bucks to save the wait is worth it from my POV.
I choice to save the money and go to a restaurant or lounge to get hammered instead.

maybe they didn't want your business and were just trying to say it in a nice way. or were too drunk.
There's alot of factors you gotta play in.
we requested the back room because we had a lot of people. We also knew that the service is pretty bad there so we ordered pitchers so the long waits between service wouldnt feel so long. nothing to do with being too drunk :)
