Futureshop extended warranty question

I bought a tv few years ago and its not working i bought the extended warranty from futureshop, but my friend who use to work there got the tv with his discount for me. Will i be able to still use the warranty or does he have to call in?

As far as I know, the warranty is on the TV not the person. Anybody should be able to take it in with the warranty information and there shouldn't be a problem. Unless futureshop works differently than everywhere else which wouldn't surprise me.

double check if your friend that worked there used in staff purchase on the warranty or not. If yes not sure if you can bring it in.

FS extended warranty is on the product not the person. It clearly states on the extended warranty and on their website that if you sell an item to somebody else the warranty follows the product.

If your friend doesnt work there then whatever, if he does still just ask him out of courtesy. Your covered either way.

As an employee you're obviously allowed to sell stuff after you're done with it.

If it's like 2 months old, then your friend might get in trouble. If it's a couple years then there's no problem. Most TV warranties are in-house warranties. So you call the number and they send someone to your house to try and repair it.

it is, refundable.. however if he got a deal on price of tv, he might lose that

Thats why you must make sure the discount is taken on the TV not the warrantly itself. Some FS rep gives you a discount but they give it on the warrantly not the product which sucks.
