Anything you "hear" from a friend or some other third-party source is usually false. Someone would have said something if it was true. Keep looking at those GT-R's.

took the VSA course recently.. asked the professor about this issue.. he said the VSA is looking into it and possibly ban it due to safety reasons.

I believe the ban is in Ontario.
Unless BC is banning it too, then I don't know anything about that

I'm not sure if they're still under it as of now, but Quebec has a ban on all INCOMING JDM cars for like 180 days. That means you can't bring anymore in, but anyone still driving them can keep them. Ontario wants to follow suit.

banning rhd vehicles for safety reasons is a fascade. they're trying to kill the competition in the used car market.
hopefully this ban dosen't take affect here in BC. i really want a true EK9 :(

Stupid just to have a ban in one Province. They can't stop people from buying in another Province and bringing it back.

+1
car dealers dont like competition, so some rich people (eg. jim pattison) got some pretty influencial politcal people to start the idea of banning things.

I have imported r33 gts's for under 5K landed from the auction. you could possibly get a GTR for 10-11K if you get it brokered.

r33 gtr's are legal as of january of 2010, but you have to get the right build date. cant bring in a march build if its only january.
if you need any info on the rhd situation go to www.15years.ca

for crossing the border it's ok you just reach over a bit and the officer will reach hand in to get the passport. No drama.
and Yes I love getting out on the curb side.

there's a canadian forum all about this
http://forum.ivoac.ca/
I found it very useful when I got mine just a month ago, mind you I wasn't the one that brought it into the country but I bought it right from the shop that did

I used that forum to get help getting my car imported myself too. Worked out quite smoothly. A bit of driving around to get the paperwork but it's all within Vancouver area.

hit and miss with tyeeimports. I went to their lot in the summer and was quite disappointed... they have a lot less cars than advertised on the website. Most of their cars aren't in the best shape hence the price. My friend has purchased two vehicles from them, an MR2 turbo which surpisingly had no issues at all until it was written off. He then bought an FD from them which blew up within a couple weeks.

but that could be said of any used FD that hasn't seen a fresh/recent rebuild :o

I had to do this once, i leaned over to give my passport to the customs agent and my foot got caught in the steering wheel and face planted right on the center console. The custom guy busted out laughing :haha:
When he was giving it back he said "DONT DO THAT AGAIN!, here I;ll just throw it to you"
