I saw the premier screening last night. It is definitely a must watch.
So much mindfuck! (until the end of course, then everything becomes clear)
Gerard Butler played this role quite well. Unlike that "Gamer" shit.

Personally I liked Gamer much more than this movie. It reminded of the stupid Saw movies but more mainstream (if that's possible) and blatant attempt at social criticism was laughable. The whole premise of the movie is just too ridiculous to enjoy. My eyes hurt from rolling so often.

Saw this last night as well... it was pretty good, not spectacular, but worth watching.
'Gamer' on the other hand was the biggest piece of crap ever.

Ebert gives it 3 out of 4 but the vast majority of reputable critics think it stinks.

I saw the reviews on Rotten Tomato before watching it last night. Definately better than what I expected, the ending was a disappointment though.
The scene where the Judge picked up her cellphone got me good... Real good.

saw it loved it... but got a question from the beginning first part of the movie
how does the proposed justice system work? when Darby testified against Amez, how come Amez can't testify against Darby? Also, if Darby doesn't testify, would it mean Amez and Darby will probably get around 10 years of jail? They both didn't get death sentences because there were "insufficient" evidence.. but if that doesn't work, if both of them plead not guilty, then wouldn't they just be let off the hooks?

Just saw it, didn't know much about it but I really, really enjoyed it! The Judge-phone scene is my favourite, by far. :D

I thought this was a pretty good movie. Didn't understand why it got such a bad rating.
I thought something would have happened to Nick's daughter and himself. Like the violin blowing up or Nick being strangled by the tie at the end. :lol

He had snuck out of prison and replaced the judge's phone with a bomb that would detonate when she answered it.
That, or it wasn't Clyde and she had just bought a battery from China. :haha::haha::haha:

just got home from watching it,
definitely a very twisted plot--in the good way.
I'm not much of a movie critic by any means, so I thoroughly enjoyed it.
but the thing that got me was when he killed his inmate with the steak rib--I went in thinking it was one of those psycho killer murder films with mostly explosions, didn't see that one coming.

Watched it. My opinion:
I liked everything until the ending. It left me confused. I could now see why the critics rated it poorly.
They should have portrayed Gerard Butler as a terrorist right from the start. Call it a type-casting but we have always have seen Gerard as a hero. In this movie, I was misled to believe that the story is a good guy seeking vengence (e.g. Liam ?Niesen from Taken). But in retrospect, after the movie finishes, you realize that he's a normal guy gone terribly astray. He is a definition of a "terrorist". He butchered the second guy (like Jigsaw from Saw), killed innocent people (cellmate, lawyers) and terrorized the whole city.
I liked the suspense, judge scene, twists, etc. But it could have been put together a bit better. My 2 cents :D. My fiance loved it though.
jACE NOT APPROVED :D
Rent it.

Downloadable and watchable but very disappointed with it. 4/10.
They didn't vilify Clyde enough...which seemed to be the direction the movie was taking. Sorry but I wanted Clyde to win. Seriously...if he fucking killed Jamie Foxx, that would be awesome. I thought he was justified. If my wife and daughter were killed in front of me and then the justice system let me down, I would kill everyone involved too. I'm sure 90% of you would as well.
Not a bad movie but it lacked a twist and an ending. He tunneled into prison and did all the murders himself? That's a shit excuse.

The end definately could've been better. He should have done something to Jaimie Foxx and/or his family.
The real piss off for me was that, if he was so detail oriented, how the fuck could he not notice that his shop had been broken into? They used a crowbar to get in, busted the lock, moved his shit around, etc. He should have noticed these things before he went back to prison.
Also, why the hell would he leave the suitcase (bomb) pretty much out in the open? Why not hide it in the ceiling or some crap?
They should make a Pt.II where he was wearing a flame retardant suit and escaped through another cell or something. Then he really fucks things up.

haha i agree, that would be a total mindfuck if he survived that shit somehow and/or planned for that to happen all along!
was i the only one who didn't believe jamie foxx could run out of a maximum security prison in less than 30 seconds? it's not like a fucking revolving door prison.... plus it was in solitary.
