Doesn't Taiwan have conscription where if you're a Taiwanese citizen you gotta serve the armed forces for a year, similarly to S.Korea?

I just hear lots of guys here saying they gotta leave canada and go back to their native country to serve.

i believe that rule just got changed last year
i had to do some paper work to prove my canadian citzenship or else i'd have to serve too

There's no way Taiwan is stupid enuff to invade China with Ma in office. They can stretch their military muscle all they want but @ the end of the day, they know they are no match for China's military, not even close.

cool transformers. But If I'm going to join any army the canadian ad, hell even the us recruiting ads seems to provide a legitimate and worthwhile cause to possibly die for your country.

I see none of that in the tw ads. false advertisement and propaganda to the max. transformers??? come on its cool in a movie but that is no where near what being in the military is all about. unless tw has secretly develope real life gundams.

before ppl say that joing tw is virtually casualty free because they have no one to fight with, a family frd's bro was kill when he was 18 during his force millitary term in tw because one of his bunker mate sleepwalk and shot him in the head with a rifle.

one of my section mates during basic training sleep walked, really frequently, i took away his bayonet at night. i'm fuckin serious. sometimes i'd wake up and he'd be fully geared up crawling across the ground with his rifle, or doing some other fuckin crazy thing like we were in the field. lol. good thing we didn't have live rounds.

but other than that, sleep walkers are fucking funny. just watching them or talking to them when they're zombied out is SO FUNNY. Once I had a good 30 second convo with him before i realised he was sleep walking. he sounded so cracked out or drunk, like what the fuck are you TALKING ABOUT!? what are you doing? HUH!?
