Just run your games through ABGX360. If they pass the stealth check, then you can play them online. The only people that get banned are the retards that don't do this, or play big title games (GOW2/Halo: ODST) before the retail launch date.

There are plenty of people on craigslist that can flash your drive and update your firmware to Ixtreme 1.6 if your running on anything under 1.51

What tools do I need to burn backups? Could someone give me a quick run down on what I need to do? I remember doing this for the wii then finding out after that I needed to run a shitload of different programs to get some to work. Out of all the downloads I found maybe 50% worked.

I've tried reading a couple forums but I think some of the posts I read are confusing and kinda outdated.

I'm running IX 1.6, so in order to play WAVE 4 games I had to do a boot disc. Man what slow to process. 3-4 hours later finally have it going and somewhat understand.

Just remember to always run your games through ABGX to make sure they are stealthed and verified if you are going to play on Live. I don't think ABGX works right now for Wave 4 games but an update is coming soon.

I have one set of albums, with a $550 mark up for shipping. And several months wait. If there was a $550 mark up and 3 months wait to get a 360 game, then pirating them might hold up more. But you can walk to the store and get games for a decent price, (of course you pay more to get a game right away) then pirating them holds up about as much as a severely leaky rowboat.

I stand by what I said though, if you can't figure out how to mod your console yourself, or at least understand whats going on, you're most likely gonna fuck up and get banned and then whine because you think you have some entitlement to play free games online that Microsoft will take away.

everything still works, you just can't play online at all. I don't think you will get banned simply for being modded, as Microsoft can't detect that (yet). It's if you play a backed up or whatnot game that you run the risk, playing a game before release is bad, and playing it before release *while connected to the internet* is just silly. Which when you think about it is fairly nice, if they wanted to they could probably brick your console. I'm kind of wondering why people aren't working on a way to make the 360 connect to their own servers (though really only the drive is hacked). Now I'm just thinking out loud.

Though thinking about it, legally they probably can't do that because it is YOUR console. They can just deny your service to THEIR servers.

As far as bans go, I wouldn't be surprised that a publicly upped security checker got bypassed my MS. Either you'll want to use a better, more private one if you can, or go find a RRoD to fix or a cheap used Arcade to mod/use online if you got TEH BANT STICK.

If you run 2 consoles I would also not suggest using your main harddrive/mem card on the modded one, as who knows what Microsoft might stick in there to keep track of what you play, should you play a game ahead of release.


That is my bit of helpfulness, I also suggest only pirating games to try them out/play before release and if a game actually is good, please support the developers and buy it. Similar deal with movies that are out of theatres but not on DVD yet. That is all.

not necessarily, people are reporting that their modded xbox still got banned playing legit games.

MS either have a way to detect mods, or random check on the disc while u are on live.
but i'm sure you wont be banned if they did a random check and detects that you have a legit disc in the drive.

Realistically, it's only a matter of time before they catch on to whatever the latest mod is and you get banned. The best way to not get banned is to not play online at all on a modded console. I bought my xbox modded 2 weeks ago knowing that its not gonna matter as long as I play legit games on XBL, and backups offline. Yet I haven't had a chance to try any backup games on my console because they are rather difficult to find in HK. So basically I bought a modded system, which can will be ban as soon as I log onto XBL, although I never played backups on it lol...

However, I'm glad that I couldn't figure out why the bridge connection between my Macbook and the Xbox tonight or else I would've gotten my console banned before I read about it. I think most likely is that when a ban wave occurs, those that are online during those times with a copied disc will get detected and banned. those that are online during those time with legit disc in the console will be ok or those that didn't came online at all during those period.

well Microsoft does all their banning in waves. If they detected you between the last wave, and the next one, you will get banned at the next one.

this changes my theory a bit though. when did this stealthing business come out? who running the latest mod has been banned, and who running "stealthed" discs was banned?

there are big chances that ABGX fucks the game up by patching stealth on to it (wrong stealth information). a lot of times you will have no idea where the source of the game comes from or the stealth information, when the games do not match up retail, that could easily be detected.

realistically there's no point in taking a modded console online as you'll likely get banned, and then any potential resale shits out. The best idea is you pick up a RRoD or semi beat up console, fix it up and use that to mod.

Most updates I've encountered are optional. If you are not even connected it won't even prompt you to upgrade at all. Just downside is you won't get the latest updates etc...

To me, putting aside exclusive titles all the XBox has over the PS3 is that it can be hacked. The PS3 wins in terms of noise output, heat, and general design and build quality. Every style of PS3 (CECHxxx) is fairly reworked and improved, where every "improvement"/fix Microsoft has done just creates different errors, ie old 360's RRoD from the GPU flexing and breaking contact, newer ones with the "improved" heatsink design end up RRoDing either from the GPU still losing contact, or even worse, from the RAM chips covered by this "improved" heatsink lifting.

you probably don't have a truly offline 360 modded for downloaded games haha. actually you are required to update the dashboard for newer games to work. the update is on the game disc itself.

i m not quite sure what wave 5/6 games are, but i got pretty much every recent game to work after patching it with ABGX, are you selecting the .dvd file when you burn the game?
not sure what version your flash is, that could be a problem as well...

btw, i had my 360 modded since like 3 years ago when i bought it... i played online pretty frequently and still haven't got banned yet... not sure the reason i never get banned(touch wood), maybe its because i always get my drive updated right away when a new flash comes out?... anyways, good luck to others that plays online with a modded console too

if it's patched correctly, or passes 'stealth' check in abgx, you can play online. problem is u are taking the uploader's word if you don't check once more after the download is complete, which most ppl do not.

games are at wave 11 now. from what i've read, having ur drive flashed regularly has nothing to do with being banned or not. it's how the games are patched.
