No audio all of a sudden - could it be a fuse?

The sound just died all of a sudden in my car today.. all four speakers. The deck seems fine, though.

I remember this happened before a while ago when I had my stock deck, but I don't remember what I did to fix it. I vaguely remember I changed the fuse but could be wrong.

Can that happen? Does the speaker wiring go through the fusebox?

I want to avoid pulling the deck out to look @ the harness until I check the easy stuff first.

It sounds to me like one of your speaker wires is grounding out. You'll need to pull the deck and test for ground on your speaker wires. When you pull the deck, smell it. If it smells burnt, then your problems will be worst.

What kind of vehicle is it? Is there an aftermarket cd or dvd player in the car?

Yup, sound was intermittent today. There was some static noise for a little while coming from the right-front speaker even when volume was at 0. Something's grounding out.

If I were you, I would pull that speaker out, disconnect it and turn your radio on to see if the problem is at the speaker or between it and your deck.

I think i have a similar problem. First the left speaker went, and then the right. The deck is still working fine though. I still haven't figured out the problem yet.

^ Mine's probably water. It was fine for a while when the weather was good. I'm pretty sure rain's getting in. When I have time, I'll pull the speaker out and wrap a bag around the back.

Did you install aftermarket?
