I hope the distractions between Manny's advisor and Roach are just media hype and he has more focus on his training.

I don't particularly like the fact that he's not arriving in the States til 5 days before the fight.

Watching what is happening with Pac and Cotto right now is reminding me of Rocky 3 when Rocky was all celeb and Clubber Lang was all business and totally killed him in the first part of the movie ... I'm hoping that does not happen

That Michael Koncz guy needs to get his ass kicked cause he ain't really helping the team ... that and all those stupid Politicians trying to get face time

Funny how they didn't choose Vancouver cause it rained too much here ... I guess they needed to be proven wrong by a gigantic margin by someone up above ...

I got that "too much into fame shit" feeling too and that useless fucker doesn't seem to be helping the matter.

Pacman's gotta stay humble and work hard. He's got to make training and winning his absolute priority for now. Natural ability and strength will only take him so far. Once the fight is over he can slack off and do media/fan stuff.

At least he's back at the Wildcard, training and (hopefully) focused.

I get the feeling that Koncz is eventually going to put Manny in the poor house, he seems very slimeball-ish and wouldn't be surprised if he's been stealing funds from Manny or something like that.

The sad part is Koncz isn't the worst of them, I bet you anything the entourage he has around him are probably the worst offenders of that, I've seen it happen too many times in the Philippines where they stay with you when you're up but kick you down when you're dropping ... happens everywhere in the world I'm sure but it just happens way too much back home ...

Koncz is just one of Bob Arum's lacky boys so if he ever gets replaced, we'll just see another one take his place ... but I totally agree that he is the very definition of slimeball ... just listen to him during his interview when he was trying to tell us what he does, he actually doesn't tell us anything, he just calls himself an "advisor" and he literally used that phrase and then started to say how he isn't getting paid extra for all the "extra" stuff he has to do over his normal duties whatever those are if any ...

Manny is going to get exposed. Would have loved to see Manny vs Mayweather but Cotto is too big for Manny. With size comes power and though Manny is fast it only will take one clean punch from Cotto to KO Manny.
If I were a better I'd be putting my money on Miguel Cotto.

I'd have to disagree with you on that ... in boxing sure size counts but only if its a crazy lopsided scale and Cotto is not that much more bigger than Pac ... in the ring its all about speed which equals to power and having one of the best trainer out there right now helps a lot, its all about executing the gameplan ... but its been a while since he's actually had a good fighter across from him though ... even though I have my doubts about Cotto and where his head's at especially when you watch his last fight ...

Just another fight where Pac doubted by many and he shows up with a smile on his face and proves the experts wrong yet again ...

Like I said before, speed = power and he did exactly that, just too fast for Cotto, he needed a real trainer on his side and not someone who will just tell him the first thing he read in his Boxing Traning for Dummies book ...

The thing about this fight is like people have said, there wasn't really a "bad" guy that everyone can hate, both guys are very nice and humble fighters, no flash and cockiness that say a Mayweather has that people can get riled up against ... the trainer, Joe Santiago, was probably the guy I hated the most in Cotto's camp with Michael "useless" Koncz on the other camp ...

One thing I didn't get was when Miguel's wife was covering her eyes cause of the beating Cotto was getting, my first reaction would have been to cover my kids eyes and not mine ... let the poor kid watch while he's dad literally gets sh!t kicked was probably not a good thing to see at that age, especially Cotto being a bleeder ...

Overall, a great fight and I give lots of respect to both fighters as they were both good and no one got seriously injured ....

Fully agree with Jet.

To add, Manny's got a chin on him that never really gets mentioned because his movement is so good. See him bate Cotto a few times to hit him in the body around the 6-7th rounds? Those shots never added up to anything.

Big props to Cotto for coming out in the 12th when his corner wanted to throw in the towel - he showed a lot of heart.

I'll enjoy the victory few a few weeks until I take a closer look at what's next.

yeah mannys got a real great chin i was watching it and when manny got fulll out strike to his jaw he countered right back and cotto was just a little dazed weak on the knees

manny is crazzzyy he can eat punches and it wont affect him

While true, it may not good for a boxer career-wise. Even the great Ali's Rope-A-Dope took a heavy toll on the boxer's mileage. He may be able to take it now but I'm guessing that'll hurt his longevity in the long run.

Just a guess.

One of my biggest concerns with Pacquiao, is him getting screwed over by the leeches that surround him. I think it's only outside influences that can stop this train. His faith, talent and work ethic are unquestionable.

As much as I agree with you about Cotto coming out on the 12th, the fight should have been ended around Round 9 by the trainer ... From Round 9 and on, he was just getting killed and that was pretty useless to send him in especially since he had no chance to win and even though there is pride involved, the trainer's responsibility is to the health and safety of the fighter and being Joe "Dumbass" Santiago, he let his fighter go back in even though everyone knew that was the wrong move ... You can see how Pac was already letting up and wasn't really doing much cause even he knew that it was wrong to kick a guy when he's down ... I have the match in the PVR and watching Cotto get pummeled in the later rounds were actually not very nice cause he is a great fighter and he doesn't need to be done up like this ... but if that was Mayweather on the other hand, I'd propose the rounds go to 30 and Pac can beat on him all the live long day ... and I will enjoy that ...

You're right Jet. The fight was well over somewhere in the 9th. After that, Manny's just waiting for the ref to call it.

If I'm not mistaken, I think it was between the 7th and 8th round, Roach told Manny to end it and knock him out...and you can tell he tried to. In the 11th you could definately tell Manny's humanity kicked in and he was less aggressive (I don't think he was cruising. I think he knew the fight was over and didn't want to kill the guy).

BTW I watched Roach and Arum's post fight interviews as well. While I think Manny's entitled to the lions-share of a Pacquiao/Maywether fight, they'll probably take it at 50/50. Whether that greedy fuck, Floyd Jr. will take it, is another story.

Mayweather can talk sh!t all he wants but the fact of the matter is that a champ (Pac) doesn't call out people, its the other way around ... I don't even want to bother looking at all those Mayweather clips cause he is probably saying the same stuff all the time ... I see that Mayweather ducked Mosley AGAIN ... Mosley already called him out and everything but he as usually ducked him for like the 9th year in a row ...

Once Mosley and Berto figures out who has the 2 belts, maybe Pac can unify the belts ... or Pac can go and fight Marquez again, but it might be a 1 round KO cause Marquez can't handle the weight class, plus that will also shut up Nacho and Marquez to seal that chapter of the book ...
