: The piece of gear you rarely use but you have...

So I have my manfrotto tripod at the bottom of my stairs and everyday I walk down I see the poor thing just sitting there. It's been in a part of my gear for 4+ years yet I think I've only used it five times? It's so sad for a $450 piece of gear to not be used, argh. Yet I don't want to sell it because I know if I bought it all again it would cost me more (had a friend get me a good deal at the time). I use to have an 85mm 1.8 I didn't use so much but that was sold after 2 years of use.

So what piece of gear do you have in your arsenal that you rarely use and are pissed you have it lying around yet you don't use it.

Mine would have to be my Nikkor 70-300mm which sits in my drawer 99% of the time. I used it when I first picked it up simply because of the novelty of having such far reach, but then it was unused for about 2-3 years until I recently brought it back out for a few downtown eastside photos

Memory cards!
I have over 22 gb of cards to use, but I never use more than 8 at a shoot...
I used to do events and they came handy then, but now, it's just for decoration LOL

From all of my gear, i don't use my mpe-65mm macro lens and mr-14ex flash setup. I'm thinking of selling it a decent price if anyone is interested. :)

ML-1 macro flash, but I got a good deal on that, and it's been indispensable the couple times I've used it.

my manfrotto tripod and tripod head. had them for 3 years and only used no more than 5 times.

like Mike, though, I got them for a good deal so if I were to sell and then re-buy, it'll end up costing me more.

might as well keep them :)

The nice thing is they'll last us forever, lol. I still have my dad's old velbon from when he was back in UBC. That one came with a nice bag with leather straps...leather!

I use my 50/1.8 a LOT. Love it. Of course, it's the only lens I have faster than f/4.

These CFs? I'd be just fine with 2s or 4s... right now I'm subsisting on a 512, a 1GB, and a 2GB Ultra II.

I think I've just made one of the best buy/sell/trade threads in the photo forum, woot!

One mans trash is another's treasure

Oh on that note, I have this white balance filter this gives your photos a warming tone that I never use anymore. It's an expodisc "warming" one. 77mm I believe. You put it in front of your lens, wb, then shoot. I got this thing 4 years ago and haven't used it. If anyone wants it pm me a price and chances are I'll just let it go. Comes with a translucent case.

Yep, they're CF's.

Come to think of it, I don't use a lot of my stuff...
I took the filters off a long time ago and never put it back...

I just use the basics now, other wise I've sold them...

After reading through a few posts, I came to realize that this could work out to be a great buy/sell/trade thread

I need sd's but if I get a new body needing cf's, I'll know who to message.

To all you with tripods laying around, sell me one!
