hi guys,

been noticing lately that the passenger side power window goes down fine, but when coming back up, does so very slowly. It's on and off - sometimes it does it at normal speed.

Today I noticed a similar problem with the driver's side power window - goes down normally, but coming up is kinda...rough...not smoothly, but rather very choppy.

Anyone have any similar experience, solutions or suggestions? or point me in a direction as to what this may be? Looking to try to figure it out myself if possible without having to go to a shop

also i'm not sure if this is related, but i thought i'd add in my windshield wipers have been kinda "choppy" lately too...they kind of operate more noisy, and aggresively than usual (but i may be wrong)

car is a 98 integra rs if it matters

basically in the crack that the window comes out of?

I may try it...but what're the odds that both windows would be like this? Is it the weather maybe? Otherwise i'm thinking it's some sort of mechanical issue?

yes, down the sides. Very common on honda's

silicone lube will work for sure.. this happened to me and ithought the motor was going out... buddy gave me some silicone lube and its like brand new again.. jus spray a bunch in the crack so it drips down the rubber part that goes inside the door... jus spray every single peice of rubber that touches the window when it goes up and down... 10 bucks for the silicone and its like new again

would wd-40 work, or is the silicone stuff a better bet? I have wd40 but not silicone stuff, but i'd buy the silicone stuff if it's more effective/safer etc.

wd 40 will not work at all... u need silicone lube to make the rubber smooth again... the reason why ur window rolls up slow is because the rubber is not smooth no more.. feel it for ur self

good stuff, now to pick myself up a can or two, basically every window but drivers is comping up slow, especially the rear windows

so you guys just spray it down the rubber tracks along the side, then just run the window up and down repeatedly to get the spread nice right?

or do you guys take the door panel off completely to spray ?

Glad to hear you're using this: I plan to keep it much more aggressively up-to-date than has been the case in the past, but don't hesitate to let me know if you find errors or need clarifications.

Sounds like I need to get some of this silicon lube too. My passenger window rolls up slow like hell.

just bought mine today, $7.38 including taxes ($6.49 + ~$0.80 of taxes...)

Just applied it to the side window tracks on my 98 Acura EL.

Definite improvement in the movement of the windows, even though it's still sluggish due to old power window motors. Didn't require much just two passes on each track, roll the windows up and down a few times to get it to spread, done!

sounds like you didnt get it done right... i suggest you spray every single rubber peice that touches the window... there is rubber trim visable when window is rolled up or down. roll windows down and spray, becareful as it might spray into the car when doing this. its like a big upside down U.. spray every trim peice(that touches window when rolled up and down)!!! also giev more sprays to the tracks... should work like new again.. i dont think its your motor. just spray it like you never sprayed it befor

hey guys, i just used this product and didn't get as good results as everyone seemed to

first i cleaned the inside of the windows and sprayed the inside of the window at the bottom where it touches the rubber piece
sprayed it back and forth twice, rolled windows up and down
reapplied it several more times and sometimes while the windows were going down because i did not see results. minor differences after applying

any tips or tricks? should i have applied it on the outside as well?
also after you guys clean it off will there be a streak of lube after every time you roll up and down (dont know yet cause im kinga leaving the lube there to soak right now)

just apply it everywere where the window touches rubber.. and i mean EVERY peice of rubber that comes in contact with the window... if it dosent work it must be another problem.. make sure the silicone is spread out on the rubber peices.. if that doesnt help it must be something else

Did mine and it seems to go smoother; although it didn't have much issues to begin with.

Seems like it would be good to use on any kind of rubber weatherstripping to keep it soft and supple.

Well I don't think you need to apply it on the top piece of rubber to but to each his own.
It's been a day since I've applied it and it's much smoother right now than when I first applied it so just give it some time.

I also looked into it a little bit for people that didn't have much success with the lube and people suggested that you clean the window tracks first with a qtip or rag then apply the silicone lube.
