my xbox 360 has the hdmi plugin, and i want to plug it into my LCD Computer monitor.

do i need the Offical MS HDMI connector? i saw some pictures and it has an extra piece for audio out... my monitor doesnt have built in speakers..

is this my only option?

HDMI cables are generic and they transport audio and video.

Get some HDMI cables for real cheap instead of the super expensive monster ones or whatever. No difference.

no you don't need to dump more money into MS. what you can do it plug both your standard AV plug into the 360, and the HDMI cable. you may have to take off part of the casing for the AV plug to be able to fit the HDMI but it should just pop off/on. there's a mini tutorial on how to do it somewhere online.
