For some reason, if I debadge everything on this car, I wouldn't mind driving it.
But then again, passing our canadian crash test is already a challenge.

Those taillights look a bit like the altima sedan
And that sunroof looks so poorly made
Front doors don't flow in the interior with the dash well enough
Wheels are way too small, copied honda? :D

Side profile looks like the new Impreza. The interior sort of looks like it as well. Other than that it actually looks pretty decent.

Isn't that just a reskinned Mazda? One of the Chinese companies does that....no wait, FAW I think they were.
Whatever. The only Chinese car that I'll ever buy would be a Volvo. :haha:

Dude, the last one has been reposted a million times all over the internet and everyone knows it's not actually a Chinese truck. It's a VW (http://blog.cardomain.com/2008/05/21/chinese-crash-t/).
People keep posting Chinese car crash test videos from years ago. I think a few Chinese manufacturers have already made great improvements in the crash test area. Still a long way to go though. I think the number of Chinese cars that crumble like tin cans still outnumber the few good ones. And unless they make drastic improvements to the design, content, quality and be able to present them in a consistent manner, I think they'll still have zero chance selling these cars outside China.
Found a crash test that's more recent. The BYD F3:

^ Misleading video. The F3 is just a re-badged last generation Corolla. So that just proves good Japanese engineering, not Chinese.

We have 1.3 billion people. Losing a few isnt a big deal ;)
^ Misleading video. The F3 is just a re-badged last generation Corolla. So that just proves good Japanese engineering, not Chinese.Maybe I'm wrong but I can't find anything saying it was just a re-badge? Rebadging suggests the car was built by Toyota and badged a BYD.
Just like many Chinese cars before it, I think that F3 was just a blatant copy. Previous Chinese copies have always been just skin-deep. If they are able to copy the structural integrity and learn from it, that's actually a step forward. Well, if they actually learn from it...

i don't get it... the chinese do not want to buy japanese cars/anything with a japanese brand name on it, but they have no issues making exact counterfeits?
