What are some fun/interesting restaurants in Vancouver?. Places where there is either a really fun ambiance, the service is just quirky, and that sort of thing.

A couple I can think of:

Stonegrill: Cook your own meal on a hot slab of rock
Elbow Room Cafe: Get insulted by the waiters while you eat there.

What else?

Ughhh

Avoid Stonegrill like the plague. That place is AWFUL. I'm surprised it has not gone out of business yet.

Gotta agree, Stonegrill is terrible. Samba's isn't bad, live latin music. Do the dancers perform every night?

i like samba because its all meat. however their seasoning is all the same whatever you get, so it starts all tasting the same!

^omg, the eatery is probably the worst when it comes to food--it's like fake japanese food. the restaurant itself is super cool though.

i went in with a chick the next morning and i had spiky hair, they freaking said wow, did u get ur hair stuck in a washer and dryer.
You have to go and getyour own water. the owner calls all the girls sisters (he's gay). if you dont' finish you meal, you have to pay / donate money to the fund to support hungry kids.

Try Eatery on west broadway.

atmosphere is ok. The food are over priced cause they call something "captain crunch". just a diff spin on jap food.

Sanafir, book a table on eh 2nd floor, you get to reserve a king size bed and you and 8 of yoru friends can order a 35 dollar per person platter and you'll get 7-8 dishes of tapas served to you on the bed.

whinos, if you're pimp, u get to eat behind their hidden bookcase room.

Samab: for those who doesnt' know it's all you can eat, people come out with a sword + meat and they keep on serving you until u're full.

The one at harbour centre is amazing, the lunch special is such a great deal too...

I wonder do they still have those lunch deals.

ok if your looking for a fun dinner check out the giggle dam in Poco. It's basicly a play that involves the audience and it's so much fun.

Not a Vancouver spot but here in Montreal there is a restaurant called Au Noir where it's pitch black inside (literally can't see anything) and you are served by blind people. It's a really different experience and something everyone has to try sometime. Don't know if anything like that exists in Vancouver though.

Food was definitely good but I probably wouldn't eat there often if it were just a regular restaurant. It's a really strange sensation putting something in your mouth and not really knowing what food it is beforehand. You order off a menu (in that it's read to you - only 4 options) but there is also a mystery item you can order (which changes). They serve it in bite size pieces so you just stab at your plate until you find something lol.

basicly ther servers are part of the actors. They will be all friendly and nice ask questions and will use them in the show and they will bring people up on the stage as well. The food is ok but it`s not about the food it`s all about the show. When you leave you won`t be dissapointed that for sure. It`s better to go with a big group of friends if you go.

I read this is happening in Vancouver some time soon. Eating in the dark is supposed to enhance your taste sense

if you're blind, your other senses are supposed to be heightened

you can smell and taste without the distractions of sight

Althought it's a tad pricey, I thought "Wild Rice" was a rather fun restaurant!
